In 40 ABY,[2] Dark Lady of the Sith Lumiya carried a vibroblade in her boot. While entertaining the Twi'lek Dark Jedi Alema Rar at her asteroid home, Lumiya produced the vibroblade and rammed it into her own leg. To Rar's astonishment, the blade had absolutely no effect on the Dark Lady, as all of her limbs were prosthetic.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Lumiya's vibroblade appears in Karen Traviss' novel Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice, published in 2007 and fifth instalment in the nine-part Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series.[1] It is the only time the item is mentioned, and was noted as something she kept on her person. Traviss expressed fascination with her depiction of Lumiya and Alema Rar's interaction in Sacrifice, and gave special attention to their differed perspectives on their various mutilations,[3] using the vibroblade to illustrate the extent of Lumiya's physical alterations.[1]
