Kessel spice was a variant of spice that was found on Kessel. It was extracted from the Kesselstone, a mineral that was mined in the spice mines of Kessel. Chunks of kesselstone could be ground into powder, which was then used by criminals to create a powerful narcotic.[1]

Kessel spice was first mentioned in Poe Dameron 2, a comic book written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Phil Noto, and published by Marvel Comics in 2016.[2]
