- "You told him you were going to Duro?"
"Anakin can be…protective. Beyond that, he has ties to the Chancellor." - ―Moteé and Padmé Amidala
Duro was a temperate planet located in the Core Worlds that was the homeworld of the Duros species.
Description[]
Duro was a temperate[1] planet[8] located in the Core Worlds.[1] It was positioned at the coordinates M-11[2] of the Standard Galactic Grid[9] located along the Corellian Trade Spine.[2]
History[]
- "Right…we'll talk when you get back from Duro."
- ―Anakin Skywalker, to Padmé Amidala
At some point before 10 BBY,[10] the Lost King of Duro ruled as king of Duro.[11] It shared its name with the Core Worlds Duro sector.[12]
Sometime during the Clone Wars, the Jedi Knight Pablo-Jill had an intense duel with Separatist General Grievous in a collapsing satellite city over Duro. The duel left Pablo-Jill injured, and Grievous claimed his lightsaber from the debris.[4] At another point during the war, Senator Padmé Amidala informed her husband Anakin Skywalker that she was traveling to Duro, when in reality she was traveling to the neutral world of Clabron to try and bring them into the Galactic Republic.[7]
After the new rule of the Galactic Empire was declared, Duro was one of the first Core Worlds to fall under Imperial control. Many Duros joined the Rebel Alliance after finding themselves as fugitives from their homeworld.[6]
Inhabitants[]
Duro was the homeworld of the Duros species,[1] including the infamous bounty hunter Cad Bane, who was active during the Clone Wars.[8] Thanks to the predators on Duro, the Duros evolved so that a foul smelling oil with an awful taste would fill up along their ribs during times of great strain.[13]
Locations[]
A satellite city was located in orbit of Duro.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Duro was first mentioned in the Hostage Crisis featurette in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season One blu-ray and DVD boxed set released in 2009.[14]
