- "Thanks, love."
- ―Lando Calrissian thanks a drink dispenser droid
Drink dispenser droids[3] were a type of floating service droid[1] designed to dispense drinks. The droid consisted of a silver sphere with a lit container of beverage attached beneath and two arms with the dispenser built in. It had at least four sensors, which could glow blue or green. One such droid worked at the establishment known as the Lodge on the planet Vandor.[2] In 10 BBY, the droid served a blue drink to the gambler Lando Calrissian as he sat at a table in the Lodge's back room playing sabacc. Calrissian looked back at the droid and thanked it, which was unusual behavior.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
A drink dispenser droid first appeared in the 2018 Anthology Series film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. The droid was not named in the film,[2] but was identified in the video "Every Droid in Star Wars", which was posted on StarWarsKids.com in 2019.[3]
