Dark Squadron was a starfighter squadron in the Imperial Navy that flew TIE/LN starfighters. The squadron was made up of some of the best pilots in the galaxy and they were given the best equipment and underwent sophisticated training programs. The squadron was assigned to become part of the Byss Defense Fleet—led by Admiral Gilder Varth and Inquisitor Valin Draco—and subsequently participated in the Battle of Byss against the Alderaanian Resistance.^[1]

After Emperor Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor, Dark Squadron worked for his Dark Empire following his rebirth in a clone body.
