The Nikardun Destiny navy blockaded the Rapacc system as part of the Nikardun conquests, a series of wars of conquest led by Nikardun General Yiv the Benevolent in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy.^[2] The blockade began by 19 BBY,^[3] and lasted until around 18 BBY.^[4]

The blockade was ended with a revolt of the Paccosh species, native to the planet Rapacc, that occurred between the battle over Primea and Thrawn's return to Rapacc. During the revolt, the Paccian Governance commandeered and appropriated the Aelos, one of the Nikardun blockade frigates that had interdicted their system. Uingali foar Marocsaa, leader of the Marocsaa subclan of Paccosh, painted the Aelos' ventral surface with an image of a chimaera.^[1]
