- "With success has come detractors. Both the Biological Athletes Union and the Committee Against Non-Sentient Abuse have been protesting matches. These social objections have failed to gain traction with the public, however."
- ―HoloNet News report
The Biological Athletes Union was an organization active[2] by 22 BBY.[1] After the growth in popularity experienced by the Nuna-Ball League's matches of nuna-ball, a sport that involved teams of droids using a nuna creature as a ball and therefore required little sentient involvement other than that of repair technicians, the Biological Athletes Union, along with the Committee Against Non-Sentient Abuse, protested against the matches. Their objections, however, did not gain traction with the public, which was noted on the date 13:4:4 in an issue of the CoCo District Edition of the HoloNet News.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Biological Athletes Union was first mentioned in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #50, an in-universe issue of the HoloNet News[2] written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens[3] and published on the HoloNet News website on April 4, 2002.[4]
