Dragon Canyon (帝国採掘場[1] Teikoku Saikutsujō?, lit. "Imperial Excavation Site") is the fourth and final track of the Dragon Cup in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The stage is inspired by Panzer Dragoon, an on-rails shooter game by Sega.
Description[]
The track is a canyon with a Panzer Dragoon twist. The track also has a cave at the start that leads to a bridge joined to the track's signature hairpin turn. Lagi, the protagonist's dragon from the Panzer Dragoon series, watches the race from a nearby protruding rock.
The transformation gimmick is emphasized in the track as there are bodies of water and a huge valley for planes to fly in. A new feature in the game has some tracks terraforming and/or getting destroyed over the course of the race, similar to Motorstorm Apocalypse. In the second lap of the race, the dirt road leading to the cave is blocked off by bits of a broken statue, forcing the racers go through a river detour. In the final lap, a creature destroys the bridge leading to the track's trademark hairpin turn, forcing the racers to transform their vehicles to jets.
Dragon Canyon is seen in the E3 trailer of the game, with Sonic, Aiai, Shadow and the others lining up for a race. They speed off into a cave with Sonic in the lead, with Vyse and Amy following him. Vyse catches up to Sonic but Amy catches up to them as they race out of the cave. Sonic passes Amy while the racers go through twisty turns and huge bumps before jumping off a cliff, which showcases Sonic's Speed Star transforming into a jet, then racing off with Tails doing a couple barrel rolls (for added effect) before switching to raw gameplay.
It is later seen in the game's extended Comic-Con trailer, which is the start of its E3 trailer, with added sections, like Vyse launching missiles at the racers and Sonic indicating a dead end. After Sonic and Tails transform their cars into jets and rocket off, they fly alongside Aiai and Amy, but then Tails accidentally transforms his jet into a boat while Gilius Thunderhead and Joe Musashi suddenly appear and Sonic flies away. He then rejoins the race with a boat, but everyone is suddenly ambushed by Dr. Eggman with missiles that destroy some rocks. Sonic gets launched into the air, while Eggman follows suit, but with explosions to propel him upwards. Sonic has a trick up his sleeve; he is able to use a kind of boost that propels him forward. He uses it, knocks Eggman out of the sky, and races off, referencing the opening cutscene of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
Overview[]
The race starts on the bridge over the water, leading to a hairpin turn that will go under the bridge the player has driven on. At the other side of under this bridge is some curves and hills. Just about halfway through the track is a fork. The right route is the main route. The left route on the other hand leads to two tokens. At the end of this route is a jump leading back to the main route. At the end of all hills and curves is the finish line.
In the second lap, the dirt road leading to the next part of the track is blocked by broken pieces of a dragon statue. The player is diverted onto the water. They will turn left and encounter a wide path with items, two tokens and a super pickup with three Blow Fish. At the end of the wide path is a waterfall with a rock in between. At the bottom is a cave, then another rock. The player can be on the right side of it to be lead to another token. If they are on the left side of the rock, they will only gain a boost of speed. At the other side of the rock is the car mode ramp leading back to the main track (the end of the main track).
In the third lap, the bridge leading to the hairpin turn is destroyed by a creature. The player is diverted into plane mode. A fork will show up. The left route is shorter. The right route on the other hand is longer. At the end of the fork is two bridges on the main track the player will fly under. At the other side of under the second bridge is a right turn. The player will be able to fly through two different boost pads afterwards: an upper one and a lower one. The upper one leads to items. The lower one on the other hand leads to another one. After this section, the same rules to the previous lap will apply.

"Flight ~ Empire ~ Opening Theme" | Sega, Richard Jacques | 5:17 |
The music for this track is a remix of "Flight" for the car portion of the stage, which then transitions into "Empire" for the boat portion, and the Opening Theme for the plane portion.
The intro for this track is the Main Theme from Panzer Dragoon; the 3DS/Mobile version of the intro forgoes the horn segment at the beginning. The horn segment is also absent in the soundtrack version.
