Tony Blair is a British Labour Party politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2 May 1997 until his resignation on 27 June 2007. Blair famously branded the Labour Party as "New Labour" to make the party appear more modernised after nearly twenty years in opposition. He voiced himself in the episode The Regina Monologues, where The Simpsons travel to England. It took Blair eight months of negotiation to get him to appear as a guest on the show, and he recorded his lines via telephone at 10 Downing Street, as he was prime minister at the making time of the episode (fall 2003).
