"Portuguese" Fausto is a crewmate on The Rotting Pelican. He spends all his spare time playing with a knife because "it's his thing." Along with the rest of the crew, he was thought to have died in a storm. However, when they appear at a church in Barnacle Bay, someone declares him to be "Portuguese Fausto," and Fausto promptly runs away.
Later he rescues Homer and drops him off in Springfield's Little Europe. He also joins the Pin Pals bowling team, joining them in their first championship game to Capital City. However, their helicopter crashes atop a mountain, and Fausto eventually collapses. He is presumed decreased, but miraculously wakes up and makes his way back to Springfield, after Homer had saved everybody else who also fell.
