Diane was a woman whom Ned Flanders dated after Maude Flanders died. Ned's idea of a date was taking her for a walk near a lake. She was walking her dog Fluffy, which at first gave her and Ned the appearance of a couple casually walking their dog. However, when Diane was saying words that made it appear she was overly attached to Fluffy, Ned considered this behavior creepy. Not wanting to marry what was likely an emotionally unstable woman, Ned commandeered a swan boat and piloted it to the other side of the lake to get as far away from Diane as he could.
