Enemy in Shadow Hearts: From The new World
Bestiary Entry[]
Ghost of a hunter who shook off the bonds of the earth after death. Now exists only from the waist up. Has no memory of life. All that's left is a lust for the hunt
Etymology[]

Torngarsuk as depicted in the Dictionnaire Infernal.
The Tonakh is possibly a mis-romanised reference to one of two semi-related mythological creatures from Inuit belief.
The "tornaq", a type of familiar spirit that could possess a shaman, and could take the form of a bear, rocks or a human.
The other is "Tornasuk", (also known as "Great Tornak", and "Tornasuk" among other names), an underworld deity, who can manifest as a great seal, a bear, a human warrior, or a dwarf.
It is given as an off-hand mention in H.P. Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu, where the indigenous "Esquimaux" worship Cthulhu as a physical aspect of Tornasuk.
