Mutantrum is a metamorphic sea-urchin themed monster, who can change his appearance. He was hired by Scorpius to get the Lights of Orion from the magic cave. He serves as the secondary antagonist of the episode "The Lights of Orion" and a minor antagonist of the episode Hexuba's Graveyard.
History
Mutantrum was an alien monster and criminal, who can change his appearance. When Scorpius failed for many times to obtain the Quasar Sabers, Scorpius decided to find another powerful artifact, the Lights of Orion. This power was in the magic cave. This cave can be entered only by a person with a noble and kind personality. Furio and Trakeena, being bad guys, couldn't do it, and so they decided to trick Leo in doing it. Mutantrum was hired and brought in by Scorpius to lure Leo (one of the "chosen" beings allowed entrance into the cave where the Lights of Orion were believed to be concealed) into Furio's trap when he disguised himself as his brother, Mike.
Unaware of the deception, Leo rescued Mutantrum, believing his brother had survived the fall on Mirinoi. As Mike, Mutantrum explained that they had to get ahold of the Lights of Orion before Scorpius or Furio did.
Leo agreed without question and Mutantrum lead him to the cave, where he was later betrayed by the monster. The villain knocked out Leo and gave the box with the Lights to Furio. The Rangers fought the villains, but they couldn't stop the evil duo from opening the box. However, when Furio opened the box, it was empty. Furio betrayed and left Mutantrum to fight the Rangers and he himself left. Mutantrum was quickly defeated by heroes on the ground and was enlarged.
The Rangers formed the Galaxy Megazord and started the fight. Mutantrum used his staff, which can fire fire balls, but this attack was useless against the Rangers and they deflected the fire balls back at Mutantrum, destroying him. 
TV STORY-The Lights of Orion
Mutantrum was later resurrected by Hexuba in the Lost Galaxy. As one of the monsters that split the team of Galaxy Rangers apart during the siege of resurrected monsters on the Terra Venture, he attacked Maya and Leo in a forest and was defeated easily with a combined kick to the chest. Personality
Mutantrum was a cunning, deceptive, manipulative and tricky monster, who enjoyed tricking people with his ability to change appearance. He cunningly tricked Leo by turning into his brother Mike. Ge then betrayed Leo and showed his true appearance. But he is also loyal to Scorpius, Furio, and Trakeena.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Shape-shifting: Mutantrum can change his appearance at will while also changing his voice.
- Lightning Blast: Mutantrum can shoot violet-colored lightning from his hand.
- Teleportation: In "Hexuba's Graveyard", Mutantrum can teleport to any location at will.
Abilities
- Strength: Mutantrum was able to send Leo flying with the swing of his staff.

- Fireballs: He can launch fireballs from his staff which explode upon contact.
- Growth Elixir: Like some of Scorpius's monsters, Mutantrum can drink a special elixir which allows him to grow giant.

Portrayal
- Mutantrum was voiced by the late Robert Axelrod in his first appearance and by Neil Kaplan in his second appearance, while in his true form.
- In his Mike Corbett disguise, he was portrayed by Russell Lawrence.

- Mutantrum's name is a portmanteau of "Mutant" and "Tantrum".
