Grunchor on the Loose is the thirty-seventh episode of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, continuing the Lost Galaxy arc. This episode concludes the conflict with the monster Grunchor and sees Deviot joining forces with Captain Mutiny, the self-proclaimed ruler of the Lost Galaxy.
Synopsis[]
Stanton sends search teams to try to find the Grunchor monster that he accidentally has set loose. The Rangers discover that Deviot has joined forces with Mutiny. The Rangers summon the Defender Torozord, and the Stratoforce and Centaurus Megazords to fight Grunchor and Mutiny.
Plot[]
The episode began with the guards opening the crate that Captain Mutiny sent down. The Rangers came, but they were too late as Grunchor was released and attacked the rangers, and that prompted it to escape. The rangers told Commander Stanton that they tried to come back in time to warn them and that Captain Mutiny has no intention of helping Terra Venture get out of the lost galaxy and that he wanted to capture the ship and make everyone his slaves. After the rangers left to figure out where Grunchor had gone, Commander Stanton told Mike that he wants all available personnel on search teams, and he also told him to put out an alert to clear the streets.
In the city dome, people are being evacuated mandatory and the rangers climbs out of the sewer and contacted Alpha. Alpha informs them that he detected Grunchor by the highway tunnel. As Grunchor spit acid on a car, the rangers arrived and use the Quasar Launchers on him, but to no avail and Grunchor had escaped.
Meanwhile at Mutiny's Castle, the captain asked Barbarax how he knows Grunchor will get the job done and he said that Grunchor never fails and that he is too big to beat. Deviot arrived and said to Captain Mutiny that if he gives him a hundred swabbies, he'll ensure success by feeding him a special strength serum. Captain Mutiny said that if Trakeena finds out Deviot was working with him, she'll throw him overboard and Deviot said that he worries too much. The Swabbies arrived and Captain Mutiny said that Deviot can take them, but he wants Terra Venture by sundown.
At the harbor, Deviot reprimanded the swabbies for dragging the serum instead of lifting it and Grunchor will be there anytime now, and he will be hungry. When the rangers arrive, Leo asked Deviot what he is doing here, and he said that he wanted to welcome the rangers to the lost galaxy. Deviot activates the scanner and he said that it was time for Grunchor's feeding. After the rangers fought off the swabbies, Maya climbs up to the crate and grabbed Deviot by the leg and threw him down, allowing Grunchor to escape. Before Maya could strike him again, Leo stopped her and said that they need him to tell them how to stop Grunchor. The rangers interrogated Deviot until he said that fire is the only thing to stop Grunchor, but it would take more than they have, and he swore he was telling the truth, prompting him to escape.
Back in the city dome, Leo told the rangers that the signal was getting stronger, and Mike arrived to ask them if they found anything. Leo told Mike that they took the scanner from Deviot and Mike told them to split up so they can cover more ground. Barbarax asked one of the swabbies if he is sure that this was the area to find Grunchor and called that swabbie useless as that scanner and showed the other swabbies how to get its attention by swinging his ax into the train station underground. The rangers stopped him and asked what he is doing here, and he said that he'll have to show them what they were up to. After the rangers battled off the swabbies, Barbarax said that he heard Grunchor and the rangers said that it sounded closer. After the rangers told Barbarax to get off Terra Venture, he uses his Mouth Flame Laser to attack the rangers.
Meanwhile at the Mountain Dome, Leo and Mike found Grunchor and he told the others to meet them there, unaware that Barbarax is behind them. Kai told Leo where it is and he told him that the last we saw it, he went under the mountain. Barabarax arrived and said to the rangers that they don't know when to quit and Leo told him that they never quit. After their fight with Barabarax and the swabbies, Grunchor appears and Barbarax told the rangers that they were going to see what destruction really is and uses his laser to attack the rangers and told Grunchor to rise, prompting him to escape. Mike told the others to join their powers to stop Grunchor and it seemed like it worked, but it didn't as Grunchor has evolved. The rangers called their respective megazords and after Grunchor ate some boulders, Leo said that they need to stop him before he gets too strong.
Meanwhile back at Mutiny's Castle, the swabbies told Captain Mutiny himself that the rangers are fighting Grunchor in their megazords and they also asked him to join the fight. The captain told them to never let it be said that he would shy away from a good battle, and he also asked if they are with him. As they took off, Captain Mutiny told Titansaur that they'll be back.
Back in action, the Defender Torozord tried to restrain Grunchor, but it electrocutes it, and Kai said that Grunchor is tough. The other rangers had to think about getting more power somehow and Damon asked about their ranger powers and Karone said that it was too dangerous, and Leo said that if that is what it takes, he'll do it. The others asked him if he wants to do it and Leo said that they don't have a choice. When it didn't work, they called on the Stratoforce and Centaurus megazords to help, but it electrocutes them as well. From outta nowhere, Captain Mutiny attacked the rangers and said that he always checks his course for a good brawl. He docked his castle on Grunchor's head, making him even bigger and the rangers continued to be overwhelmed with its strength. The Defender Torozord was defeated in one blow, and the Stratoforce and Centaurus megazords were damaged trying to protect the Galaxy Megazord, despite Leo's usage of his fire abilities. The other rangers said that they want to beat him too and they will do it together as a team. With the powers of the other rangers, Centaurus and Stratoforce megazords, Leo unleashed his Galaxy Fire Power upon Grunchor, disintegrating him.
At Mutiny's planet, Deviot was bickering about the rangers' success and Captain Mutiny said that he had a hankering to make Deviot walk the plank. The captain made an announcement that he needed more slaves to dig for his treasure and Barbarax said that he'll get him more slaves. Captain Mutiny warned him that he better, or he'll dig alongside them until he sails into the sunset and Barbarax said that he can count on him.
Back on Terra Venture, Kai told the others that the coordinates from Captain Mutiny's planet was gone and Karone said that that's impossible. Leo told them that they need to get out of the lost galaxy as they stare into it.

Errors[]
- While the Rangers are shocked to see Deviot on Terra Venture aiding with Grunchor, they don't seem shocked that he's alive despite having apparently destroyed him in "Enter the Lost Galaxy".
- Grunchor can be seen with Barbarax in his mouth, despite the fact that Barbarax had already left, via teleportation. This is due to Grunchor's counterpart eating Barbarax's counterpart, in the original Sentai footage.
- It's stated that Leo is using all of his energy at one point and is shown to be in pain but at that moment he'd been using the Condor Galactazord's Missile Launch attack, not his fire power, so it shouldn't have affected him.
- When Leo destroys Grunchor, he calls out Galaxy Fire Power when in previous episodes where he's used the power with the Lion Galactazord he calls out Galactic Fire Power.
- When Grunchor is being destroyed, the Rangers tell Leo to "keep going" with his power. However, by that point he'd stopped emitting his flames as seen with the fact that the three Megazords are standing next to each other watching Grunchor burn up with no further fire being emitted by the Galaxy Megazord.
Notes[]
- When Grunchor moves about under the streets, it's similar to the movements of the Graboids in the Tremors franchise.
- The Defender Torozord is now armed with the Defender Axe rather than its lance as in its previous appearances. This continues to be its main weapon following this episode.
- The Galaxy Megazord uses the Condor Galactazord's Missile Launch attack for the first and only time while powered by the Lights of Orion.
- This marks the final time that the Galaxy Megazord uses the Condor Galactazord as a Missile Mode.
- Deviot joins Mutiny's crew in this episode.
- Captain Mutiny is revealed to know of Trakeena, and is concerned about her retaliation, if she finds out that Deviot is now working on his crew.
