Chuumei Watanabe (渡辺宙明 Watanabe Chuumei), real name Michiaki Watanabe, was a composer for the Super Sentai franchise. He was noted for composing the music for every Sentai season from Gorenger through Goggle-V, as well as insert music for multiple seasons beyond these; he also shared duties on the soundtrack for Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Uchuu Keiji Gavan: The Movie (with Kousuke Yamashita). He had returned to composing the main soundtrack for Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, making him the oldest composer for a Sentai season.
His son, Toshiyuki Watanabe, is also a composer.
Watanabe died from heart failure in June 23, 2022 at 96 years old.[1]
