This Dustox is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon that was owned by Jessie.
Biography[]
Dustox was caught during Jessie's travels through Hoenn. Jessie caught Dustox on her way through Petalburg Woods as a Wurmple. Both she and May nurtured their Wurmples and would constantly claim theirs was better than the other. It later evolved into a Cascoon, Jessie was determined to have a Beautifly even when it became a Cascoon she believed it was a Silcoon. Despite James, Meowth, and even Professor Birch knowing the difference and trying to tell her, it only fell on deaf ears. When May's Silcoon evolved into Beautifly but Jessie's Cascoon did not, she was determined to evolve it. During a battle it finally evolved into a Dustox, James and Meowth were worried what her reaction would be, while shocked at first Jessie was overjoyed as she thought it was beautiful. Later on Dustox became Jessie's main contest Pokémon during her Hoenn and Kanto contests. In That's Just Swellow, Dustox showed off her skills in the PokéRinger competition, where she competed with James, who wanted to win the contest as his master was the very first winner. Dustox did well, beating May's Beautifly in the first round and made it to the final round but lost to Ash's newly evolved Swellow. In Crossing Paths, Dustox was released during the Dustox Crossing to mate with a special colored Dustox. While not wanting to leave Jessie (who also did not want to bid farewell either), she told Dustox to not make the same mistake she did and should follow her heart. As she took off Jessie remembered all the times with her Dustox from finding her as a Wurmple to evolving into a Dustox to their success. Jessie wishes her a tearful good luck and has not been seen since.

Trivia[]
- Jessie's Dustox has something in common with Ash's Butterfree; both Pokémon were released by their trainers in order to have a relationship with another of their kind and also mated with their own species of a different color.
- Dustox is the first Pokémon to have its Poké Ball shattered on screen by its trainer.
- Although Jessie was initially disappointed she didn't have a Beautifly she appreciated her Dustox and has even called her Dustox dear and when she'd summon her for battle she would call her "My dear Dustox".
