After trumpets of the apocalypse proclaim the fall of humanity, vampires arise from the shadows to rule the earth. Yūichirō wants just one thing—to get revenge by killing each and every vampire.

Asuramaru and the other black cursed gear demons’ betrayal of their hosts strikes a heavy blow in the war against the vampires, Shikama Dōji, and the Hyakuya Sect. Shikama Dōji has ordered Asuramaru to capture Mikaela’s soul before he has a chance to possess anyone. While Shinoa continues to fight to keep Shikama Dōji locked away inside of her soul, Yūichirō and his friends are in a race against time to save Mika in the one way humans know how to handle black demons: by binding his soul to a new cursed gear weapon!

Author's note[]

II keep hearing that veggies pickled in rice bran are good for the gut, so I want to set up a schedule to eat some every day. (If I don't mention rice bran pickles again, you can guess what happened.)

Takaya Kagami

This is volume 24. Shinoa does her best. Guren, Yuichiro, and Asuramaru do their best too. I hope you'll cheer for them.

Cover Details[]

Volume 24's cover displays Demon Mika in the center of the image. From his left hand and posture, demon Mika appears to be seated on an invisible surface, or a cloud like substance that his tail forms out of below him. Where he is reaching upwards, Demon Mika's hand has a light afforded to it, which also shines partly on his face. Based on the story detailed in the chapters it is presumed that it is Yu's hand reaching downwards for him. While demon Mika's cloak is fastened relatively tight around him, on his right it flows upwards and is translucent where the left side of Gekkouin's face can be seen.

Either being visualized, or appearing as demons can do, the three black demons set on capturing Demon Mika as they did in chapter 100 are shown. Aside from the black features they naturally have, such as the color of their horns, the three demons are not shown in their regular color scheme, rather are tinged black and predominantly red. On the left side of the image is Gekkouin with his left hand raised, where a single black arrow is shown, also with red tinges on the tip. At the top right is Asuramaru who is holding a sword in his right hand of which the handle is in the top left of the image, where the tip appears to be behind demon Mika's hood, again on the right of the image. Also on the right side, below Asuramaru is Kiseki-o. He is sat with his legs crossed yet Kiseki-o is not entirely seated on the coffin visible below him, where the handle side of the unit is shown. Each of the three black demons has a lighter section of white which partially provides light over their eyes where the red effect is not applied. While Asuramaru's hair is purple, yet black in the lighting here, and Kiseki-o's hair is green but appears light, in a possible indication of Gekkouin's hair color, it is the same blond in parts as Kiseki-o's in this image.

A separate scenario is viewed in the bottom middle of the image. A shining light illuminates a residential scene which shows Mika and the being imitating Yu as children. Along with who is likely the Akane Hyakuya part of the dream who is holding a ball, they stand outside in a neighbourhood like area and are holding hands with other children. There are eight children in total depicted, Yu with Mika and Akane, then five smaller orphans.
