Grind the Bad Apples

Grind the Bad Apples is a trial that takes place at the Fun Park in The Outlast Trials. It was released on May 18th, 2023 during the early access launch.^[1]

Gameplay[]

We must eliminate the misbehaving children. Take them to the "Root Canal," where the good children won't see you give them a gentle correction.

Reagents start entrance of the Futterland, greeted by Mother Gooseberry, before travelling to the Diner to grab hearts from the tubs and win 4 tickets at various carnival games around the trial. Upon winning the tickets, they must be deposited into the ticket booth before the access to the Root Canal is opened. Once inside, the Reagents must push the duck boat of children into the area, before they must find the battery switches powering the gates blocking their path.

Once the gates are lifted, the boat can be pushed upstairs, Mother Gooseberry halting the progress by cutting off the water supply. Reagents must find 2-4 pipe valves to raise the water once more, and then push the boat back downstairs to the grinding area. Once the boat starts to get pushed into the grinder, Mother Gooseberry will emerge from a Murkoff Door and begin her attempts in stopping the children from their fate.

Upon the boat being destroyed, the grinder will split open and the Reagents must make their way back out of the trial shuttle through the Fun Park.

Trivia[]

• In the Trials documentary, it shows that Reagents used to carry children into the grinder instead of pushing them from the boat. This idea was later recycled into an MK-Challenge: Punish the Miscreants^[2].
