Mipha (JP), is one of the main characters in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. She is the Princess of the Zora and the Zora Champion. Mipha is the the daughter of King Dorephan and the elder sister of Prince Sidon, as one of the Champions, Mipha was Link's allies and childhood friend 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, she wears the same blue clothes as Daruk, Urbosa, Revali, Link, and Princess Zelda marking her affiliation to Zelda's group. Mipha was born with the unique ability, Mipha's Grace, to heal others and wields the Lightscale Trident. She makes a return in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Personality[]

Mipha is demure and introverted, being a quiet timid young girl who is willing to be brave when the situation calls for it and will do whatever she will to help her friends when necessary. She is very caring of her family members and is especially close to Prince Sidon, whom she helps to adjust to swimming up the waterfall and entrusts Zora's Domain to his care if anything were to happen to her and ingrains in his mind, "I believe in you." which he would later use this phrase a century later to Link during his journey to Zora's Domain so he can help the Zoras deal with Ruta's abnormal behavior and constant rain that plagues the domain. In Age of Calamity, when she hears of Sidon's disappearance, she immediately goes to search for him and fears that he went to Ploymus Rock where the dreaded red-maned Lynel that wields Shock Arrows dwelled, and she refuses to let it harm him. Though she mildly lectures Sidon for wandering off and giving her and the Zoras a terrible scare, she does praise his bravery in spite of his brush with death. Despite her initial shock at meeting the adult Sidon who saved her from Waterblight Ganon, she still provides sisterly love for him anyway. Mipha can come across as headstrong at times in dangerous situations, shown that even when she knows that electricity would kill her in an instant, she will still go out of her way to ensure the safety of her friends and family. A century later since losing her life, she does show some regret in making her family worry about her given that her father had her promise to return home alive, when the mission is a life-or-death scenario where it isn't guaranteed that she would. She cares about her father as well and when she saw him at the mercy of an electric Moblin, she takes control of Divine Beast Vah Ruta to obliterate the monster before it could kill him.

Mipha is clearly in love with Link and often promises to heal his wounds if he received any in battle no matter how grave they are. She timidly tells him that once Ganon is dealt with, she hopes to spend more time with him like they did in their childhood. Because of her shyness, Mipha doesn't confess her feelings directly and resorts to only giving hints that might point Link in the right direction about them. If she does try to confess, she will either go around the reason why the Zora Armor fits Link so well (made by Zora Princesses to give to their future husbands) or when she tries to do so directly, she will lose the resolve and tells Link to dismiss what she is about to say. Mipha is also aware of Link and Zelda's relationship, and she does worry that Link would fall for the Hylian princess since he was appointed to be her personal knight and she is somewhat envious of them. She doesn't try to get in the way and is still polite to her and tried to give her advice at the East Gate before she got interrupted by Ganon's return.

Mipha is extremely kind-hearted and polite for the most part to other people, friends and strangers alike. which is well known to those who knew her, and her death took a major emotional blow on the Zoras, especially her father, brother, and Muzu. She has put her healing ability to good use in healing the wounds of soldiers, and herself, during the major battles which helps them get back on their feet quickly enough to return to the battlefield, which was prominent in the battle to defend Zora's Domain, Akkala Citadel, and Goponga Village. While she is caring, she despises the thought of anyone reading her diary and in the extra dialogue with Link, when she brings it up to Link, she loses her temper, telling him not to read it, but she catches herself and hopes that Link will respect her wishes for him not to do so.

Mipha's gets along very well with other Champions, besides Link, she's associated with. She shares a brother-sister like bond with Daruk, who offers to assist with her training when they were traveling through town to calibrate the Divine Beasts so she can handle tougher enemies better. Daruk appears to be aware that she has a crush on Link, but he keeps this knowledge to himself as to not stress her out unnecessarily. She and Revali rarely interact despite knowing of each other's existence, but on occasions when they do acknowledge one another, they do work well with each other and have a healthy friendship. Mipha doesn't call out Revali while Daruk and Urbosa do whenever he acts up, but she does tend to shoot a glare at him a few times, which Revali is unaware of. Nevertheless, Mipha is very courteous towards him and praises his skills when it's due and Revali cares deeply about her and shows some concern for her, when she got nervous during a photo shoot and smiles in relief when she composes herself, and he also gives reminders to look out for herself, indicating he knows well of her importance in her role concerning her healing abilities to tend to the injuries of their allies. Mipha and Urbosa don't interact much, but Urbosa seems to be aware of how young Mipha, Link, Princess Zelda, and Revali are very young, and she and Daruk wanted to help them to understand that they are Hyrule's future. When they do interact, they are very polite and show respect for one another.

Appearance[]

Mipha Artwork

Mipha's appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Mipha is a red-scaled Zora slightly shorter than Link. As a member of the Zora race, Mipha has fins and webbed feet and looks much like a humanoid fish. She does not wear traditional clothing but instead adorns her body in elaborate silver jewelry. Mipha also wears a blue sash with a white Divine Beast Vah Ruta emblem over her left shoulder and wrapped around her waist with the light blue gem holding it together as a symbol of her role as a Champion of Hyrule. Before becoming Champion, however, Mipha wore a tiara on her forehead, a royal ultramarine sash with a pure white scarf, and adorned with thin golden rope over her left shoulder. Both Mipha and her brother Sidon resemble great white sharks, having a muscular appearance and sharp teeth.

History[]

End of the Timelines[]

100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[]

Mipha was born in Zora's Domain to King Dorephan and an unnamed queen, Dento forges the Lightscale Trident as a gift for her to celebrate the occasion. When she got older, she began her training with the royal guard, and she was beloved by the Zora soldiers especially Seggin, who came to see her as her own daughter. Under his instruction, Mipha hones her skills, and she became as radiant as her Lightscale Trident and was in the class of her own. She is also very close to Muzu, who is her mentor.

Mipha took up diary writing after a group of Hylians paid a visit to Zora's Domain at King Rhoam's request, Mipha met a four-year-old boy named Link and was surprised to see how curious and energetic he was and wonders if other Hylian kids are like this. She also saw how he stood out with his remarkable swordsmanship who had bested grown adults. As she judged from the bruises she saw on Link, she deduces that he is also quite reckless and wanting to help out, she healed these bruises, which amazes Link which she believes that it was the first time he saw healing magic and noted how adorable his big round eyes were.

Eventually, Mipha documents the excavation of the Divine Beasts, one of which is Divine Beast Vah Ruta which was uncovered in Zora's Domain. Mipha saw how cute it looked with its roundness and long trunk. From what she hears from a Sheikah, Divine Beasts require someone worthy to control them and Mipha imagined someone controlling the gigantic machine in the distant past and wonders who will have the honor to do so.

Many years pass, a now teenage Link paid a visit to Zora's Domain for the first time in ages. Mipha saw how quickly he had grown into an accomplished swordsman and the owner of the Master Sword. She was proud of him, but she noticed something off about him; he barely spoke at all and very rarely smiles. When she tried to ask him what was wrong, but he just shook his head. She believes it was his newly acquired status and looks as though he was looking past her.

Mipha documents Princess Zelda's visit to Zora's Domain to ask her to pilot Vah Ruta to fight against Ganon and she accepted without reservation. She could not afford to see Calamity Ganon resurrected as it would put everyone including her people in danger. While she doesn't know what will happen, all she knows is that she must do her part to protect Hyrule by any means possible. She realized that the Divine Beasts serve the purpose of assisting the chosen hero when he faces Ganon and, in this way, she can help Link.

Botw Mipha and young Sidon

Mipha speaking to Sidon

Mipha and Princess Zelda are at the top of the Veiled Falls, where the former asked the latter of the names of the other Champions that were chosen. The princess replies that their names are Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa, but is unable to bring herself to mention Link's name, calling him the Hylian knight with the sword that seals the darkness. Mipha immediately knew who it is and down below the falls, they spot the infant Sidon floating on the water's surface and Mipha calls for him to come on up. Zelda reminds her that Sidon is still so young, but Mipha insists that there will be a day where she must leave him so she can face her fate with Divine Beast Vah Ruta and with a graceful leap, she surfs her way down to the bottom to reach her brother and tells him to join him so that he can get the feel of waterfall climbing. As they swim up together, Sidon was nervous but managed to retain his balance and grip on his sister. Upon reaching Zelda's level, Mipha tells him that if fate ever separates them, she charges him to protect Zora's Domain with his life. As Sidon understands, Mipha says that she believes in him and asks if he wants to go again, which Sidon smiles as his sister laughs and Zelda looks on.

In order to prove herself worthy of controlling Vah Ruta, Mipha is put to the test when she underwent three trials which include swimming through the glowing ring in the Lanayru Sea, (where she kept a note on it and often repeated it to herself), battling Guardians on Upland Zorana, and swimming through several glowing rings between Lulu Lake and Mikau Lake. Mipha was able to pass the test. Out of all the Champions, according to Zelda's Research Notes, Mipha had the easiest time controlling Vah Ruta, to Zelda's surprise as she thought of how fragile she seemingly looked.

On Link's next visit to Zora's Domain, Mipha tells him of the Lynel that lived on Ploymus Rock that had been recently causing fear in everyone. Link heads toward the mountain to teach it a lesson and she follows him there. When they neared their destination, Link told her to leave and he is fine on his own though Mipha would not leave and as they argued, the Lynel ambushed the two of them. Mipha thought they would die, but was proven wrong when Link, who is as fearless as ever, brings out his sword and effortlessly defeated the beast. She witnesses the sheer grace of Link's movements. Rather than being afraid, Mipha felt safe with Link around. Seeing how kind and strong he was, she starts to fall hopelessly in love with him and was amazed by the Spin Attack and sought to try it with her trident.

Mipha's father gave her his permission to pilot Vah Ruta against Calamity Ganon when its threat could no longer be ignored. He told her that the Zora must play their part and promises her to return home safely, which Mipha quietly agrees as she saw Seggin unable to look at her and Muzu leaving partway. She feels guilty for having to put them through this by accepting a dangerous task which there was a fifty-fifty chance that she would not be able to return alive, though she is still willing to do what she can to help Link and wouldn't bear to forgive herself otherwise. Mipha had finished gathering the necessary materials to craft the Zora Armor for him and began to assemble it.

The Champion Photo

Mipha with the Champions

Link, Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa attend the Champion inauguration ceremony where they were appointed by King Rhoam and given blue cloths made by Princess Zelda. Mipha wore hers like a blue sash and had swapped out her royal sash and some of her jewelry in the process. After the ceremony ends, the newly appointed Champions have their break at the gazebo outside where Revali is intrigued by the Sheikah Slate as he takes it from Zelda's hands to have a look. The princess explains its uses and brings up that there are still secrets that still await discovery, and Revali passes it to Mipha. Urbosa mentions that the Sheikah Slate can take photos, it gets Mipha's attention and asks Zelda for a favor. Purah then finds a spot and has the princess, and the Champions gather on that spot and instructed them to get into position. Once it was satisfactory and as Purah snapped the photo, Daruk suddenly pulls everyone together at the last second.

Mipha later wrote about the inauguration and while she doesn't remember much about it, she will cherish a moment where Zelda agreed to her request and Daruk for bringing her and Link closer together through his last second act of pulling the Champions together. Despite these moments, Mipha is troubled to learn that Link is going to become Zelda's personal knight, meaning that they will be closer together.

Mipha is present at Link's personal ritual to be Zelda's appointed knight who will follow her wherever she went, suggested by Daruk and is slightly disappointed by the depressing tone of voice Zelda gave off, and she angrily stares at Revali when he calls out on Daruk for coming up with this idea, which Revali does not take notice of her doing this.

Mipha is aware of Muzu's dislike of Hylians, so he was the only person whom she avoided telling of her feelings for Link as she knew that he would not approve of their relationship. She managed to complete the Zora Armor and is all confident that it will fit him perfectly. When she hears that Link is heading over to Zora's Domain, she hopes on giving him the armor, but she had some second thoughts on going through with it. She recalls a tale of a certain Zora princess who also fell in love with a Hylian, coincidentally one of Link's past incarnations, which gave her, giving her some hope. Since Princess Zelda is not with him, which is a rare occasion, it would just be Mipha and Link. She decides to have Link join her on Vah Ruta at sunset and calls on the ancient Zora princess to give her courage.

Mipha tending to Link's arm wound

Mipha sits beside Link on the end of Vah Ruta's trunk, where it is known that Mipha had interacted and befriended Link when he was younger. She is tending to Link's wound from an earlier battle and notes that it reminded her of the day they first met when Link was still four years old, often reckless and getting hurt a lot. She adds that since Link is a Hylian, he ages at a much faster rate than her and the rest of the Zora race, who are known for having longer lifespans than any other race. She then switches to the topic about Calamity Ganon's impending return and wonder what could be done since they have yet to know what they're really up against but assure him that no matter how difficult the battle is or how bad the wound is, she is willing to protect and heal him regardless. She says that once it's all over, she hopes that they would spend more time with each other as they did in the earlier years.

Link Zelda and The Champions

Mipha and the Champions bear witness to Ganon's return.

Mipha is present with the other Champions at the East Gate where Link and Zelda are returning from the Spring of Wisdom at Mt. Lanayru. They are dismayed when Zelda's training there didn't awaken her power as she had hoped. Urbosa insists that she moves on and find something else that will. Mipha then attempts to provide the princess some advice before they are interrupted by an earthquake, and once Revali descends upon witnessing Calamity Ganon appearing at Hyrule Castle. When Mipha asked if he was sure, he replied that, he is positive. Daruk then takes control of the situation and orders the pilots to head to their Divine Beasts immediately and has Link head to Hyrule Castle. Urbosa urges Zelda to take refuge somewhere, but the princess refused and states that she must at least do something whether or not she had her power.

Unfortunately, neither Mipha nor the other Champions are seen again after that. Mipha's route to Divine Beast Vah Ruta has her swimming through the Lanayru Wetlands and up Zora's River. By the time she arrived, Vah Ruta was already overtaken by Waterblight Ganon. She was quickly sealed inside and tried to fight back against the monster, but her life was taken away from her. The other Champions suffer a similar fate. When Mipha didn't return alive, the Zoras, especially King Dorephan, Sidon, and Muzu, are deeply aggrieved at the loss of their beloved princess. To let her spirit rest, they intend to send the Lightscale Trident down the river, but her weapon began to glow and her voice chimes in as she tells them to let go of their grief over her and know happiness once more, as remembering her should be their top priority as of now. A statue of her was constructed so she is never forgotten, and the Champion Festival was hosted every year to remember the sacrifices the Champions made to preserve peace.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[]

During Breath of the Wild, as Calamity Ganon's power grew stronger to the point where it can take remote control of the Divine Beasts, they began causing much misery to the corresponding races. For Ruta, it brought endless rain to Zora's Domain and the area around it, making it harder for travelers to climb on the steep hills and cliffs as their wet surfaces made it too slippery for them. As far as the Zoras are concerned, if the rain from the Divine Beast isn't stopped soon, the dam would break and cause a catastrophic flood upon Hyrule, and the way to disable it is to use Shock Arrows on the glowing orbs. Yet, the Zoras cannot wield electrical weapons as it would likely kill them if they tried to, so Sidon heads out to find someone who could help assist them and comes across the revived Link, who assists them and with the Shock Arrows and the Zora Armor that was made by Mipha which is intended for Link earlier, he teams up with Sidon to stop Ruta's rampage and enters the Divine Beast to deal with the source of Ruta's abnormal behavior.

Mipha acknowledges Link's presence, and she is happy to see him again and that Ruta will return to her. She instructs him to acquire a map at the Guidance Stone and to activate the five terminals that will take back Ruta and she will keep encouraging him as he does so. When they are all activated, Mipha will direct him to the Main Control Unit to get it started and warns him to be careful. When Link attempts to activate it, Waterblight Ganon appears and Mipha explains that it was responsible for her death and has faith that Link will destroy it.

Mipha's Grace

Mipha bestowing her power to Link

After Waterblight was killed, Link was able to start the Main Control Unit. Mipha's spirit appeared to greet him and because of his actions Vah Ruta is now free of Ganon's influence and thanks him for allowing her freedom to be with him again. Because she is a spirit, her healing power is pointless on her and decides to bless Link with the use of Mipha's Grace in the form of a glowing blue orb, in hopes to at least fulfill her old promise of healing and protecting him. She tells him that just yesterday she broke down crying and nearly gave up hope on freedom, but now that Link is here, her wish to see him again is fulfilled and encourages him to use it whenever he needs it, as it would allow her soul to rest peacefully. As Link is warped out, she urges Link to save Princess Zelda.

She then conducts Vah Ruta to its firing position on Zodobon Highlands. Standing atop of the Divine Beast, Mipha is happy that she has found a way to be useful to Link and her fellow Champions and reminds Ruta that their duty is to drain Calamity Ganon of his power in Hyrule Castle, and she asserts that this is not only her last chance, but also the last hope of Hyrule Kingdom. Sealing Ganon is sure to restore peace to Hyrule and fulfil the duties of Vah Ruta and herself as well. Looking back at Zora's Domain wondering how her father is faring without her. She assures him that she had always followed her heart and apologizes for making him worry and wishes to see him one last time before she leaves this world.

Mipha's spirit appears whenever Link uses Mipha's Grace when he takes a fatal blow, it will replenish life gauge, in addition to her granting Link extra temporary hearts. She will also let him know when her power has finished recharging.

When The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack is active, Mipha's Diary will appear in the Throne Room in Zora's Domain. At the conclusion of the EX Champion Mipha's Song, Mipha will call to him, telling him that he is stronger than he was ever before, and she reduces the cooldown time on Mipha's Grace, which becomes Mipha's Grace +. With his current power, she believes that he can save Princess Zelda and the kingdom.

Mipha will provide additional dialogue if Link chooses to repeat his fight with Waterblight Ganon in the Illusory Room. In the first dialogue, Mipha ask him if he remembered the time, they fought the Lynel at Ploymus Rock which has been causing trouble for the Zoras until he came, and they fought together and asks if it rang any bells. In the second dialogue, Mipha asks Link if he recalled what took place between them a hundred years ago and why the Zora Armor fit him so well and there are a lot of things that she hopes he remembers them, but if he couldn't then it couldn't be helped but Mipha herself will never forget. In the third dialogue, Mipha will mention her diary and she sternly warn Link not to read it; she catches herself raising her voice though she hopes that he will respect her wish. In the fourth dialogue, Mipha makes a request to pass her messages to her father that she is sorry for having him worried, her brother Sidon to believe in himself, and Princess Zelda that she wished that she could have told her everything she never told her and has a message for Link as well but tells him to dismiss it. In the fifth and final dialogue, Mipha praises Link for his exceptionalism and that the monster killed her before she had a chance to fight back and believes that the power he attained, he can defeat Calamity Ganon and has him in her prayers and implores him to save the princess.

When Link finally faced the monster, the Champions fired their lasers, which Mipha stating that it will be their final opportunity and will not fail in order to weaken Ganon allowing Link to destroy the physical form of the beast and set Princess Zelda free from her own imprisonment.

After Calamity Ganon's defeat, Mipha is seen with the other Champions as well as Rhoam as they silently bade farewell to the duo before departing for the afterlife with their duties having been completed.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]

The Calamity is Averted[]

A small Guardian named Terrako arrived from the dark future of Hyrule to give Link, Princess Zelda, and everyone close to them enough time to muster their forces against the looming Calamity. However, Ganon's Malice had followed it into the past and corrupted its other version, becoming Harbinger Ganon, who would then cause the heroes and innocent people so much misery.

AoC Mipha 1

Mipha's introduction.

Princess Zelda gains an audience with King Dorephan at Zora's Domain, inquiring him to allow Mipha pilot Divine Beast Vah Ruta for the cause of protecting Hyrule, but the king turns her down as he does not want his daughter to be seriously harmed and Zelda attempted to further persuade him. Meanwhile, Link reunites with Mipha for the first time in a long time, but it is short-lived when the young Prince Sidon goes missing and an army of monsters are invading the domain. Learning that Sidon went to Ploymus Mountain unattended by an adult from a Zora Captain, a worried Mipha heads there after defending the outposts and saving the Zora Captains. She is often told to be careful of electrical foes, due to the fact that the Zoras are weak to electricity, but Mipha remains headstrong about saving her brother. She sees Prince Sidon holding a spear facing a Lynel, and she and Link are able to drive it away. Mipha lightly scolds Sidon for making everyone worry but praises his bravery and he responds by flashing his signature grin. Ganon's reinforcements arrive to take down the Zora forces and she looks at the Sheikah Slate that Zelda holds and sees an image of Divine Beast Vah Ruta and Terrako suggests that she use it to get rid of the monsters. She then takes control of Vah Ruta and wipes out the reinforcements including an electric Moblin, who attempted to kill her father. Once the dust clears, King Dorephan agrees to let Mipha become the Zora Champion seeing that she was able to easily control it but adds a condition that she must come home alive as Sidon is very young and needs his sister.

AoC Mipha and Daruk 1

Mipha and Daruk bonding.

Once all four Champions are chosen, Mipha forms a brother-sister bond with Daruk asking him to do training and hopes to become stronger for Link as they pass through Castle Town as Princess Zelda calibrates their Divine Beasts to make it easier for them to use them more effectively. The town is ambushed by Sooga and the Yiga Clan forces and the Champions must fight to send them packing. Princess Zelda is later made vulnerable and almost killed by Sooga, but Link manages to deflect them and Sooga then flees with the Yiga Clan. They head to Korok Forest where it was plagued by giant monsters, and Revali summons Divine Beast Vah Medoh to deal with them all before letting them know that they're free to proceed. As they traverse the forest, Mipha makes a statement about the fog which Revali then makes a complaint about since they're likely going in circles and an annoyed Daruk suggests that someone can fly up there to find the right path, which Revali snaps at him for acting before he thinks. They soon meet with Hestu, who was trying hard to get their attention and willingly assists them but is worried about the monsters that are residing and they offer to protect him as they go. It wasn't long before they encounter strange appearances of Malice and Astor's Malice replicas of the Champions, one of them including Mipha. As Link and Zelda enter the clearing where the Master Sword rests, they are suddenly attacked by Astor and the Hollows, and the Mipha Hollow manages to break Link's standard sword with its trident before it makes an attempt at Zelda's life with the other three. Link acts quickly by pulling the Master Sword emitting the light that destroys them. Link uses it to fight Astor and the Hollows, and he is forced to flee, noting how powerful the legendary blade is. The Great Deku Tree tell the Champions that their preparations are complete and consoles a worried Zelda that she should not lose hope in waking her power, which she still hasn't achieved, and this fact continues to haunt her on their way back to Hyrule Castle after seeing Link succeed where she has not.

AoC Mipha and Daruk 3

Mipha and Daruk conversing.

Despite some disruptions on their way back, Link, Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa are promoted to Champion status and are given blue cloths. Mipha switches out her royal sash and jewelry for her new sash that has the Vah Ruta Emblem on it. They later relax outside where Impa and Terrako have their little fight, and Mipha reminds Daruk about their conversation earlier and he agrees to get down to it. Mipha voices her hopes to become stronger and her speech slows down when she looks over at Link, who overhears this and approaches her. She then becomes defensive and stutters about this. After that, Mipha and the Champions return home to prepare for the worst and King Rhoam gives evacuation orders to the citizens to prevent heavy casualties upon learning from Purah, Robbie, and the researchers that the Calamity will take place on Zelda's 17th birthday. The Hyrulean Soldiers are sent to Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno as reinforcements, since if any of the two strongholds fall, so will the kingdom of Hyrule.

Purah and Robbie were doing further work on getting into Terrako's memories before they are suddenly taken hostage by the "researchers" who turned out to be Yiga Footsoldiers in disguise and Purah passes it to Terrako and tells it to take it to Zelda right away. The princess, Link, and Impa are preparing to depart for Mt. Lanayru as the former's last chance at awakening her sealing power. It was then that Calamity Ganon's seal breaks and malice covers Hyrule Castle. Mipha witnesses the events from the Lanayru Sheikah Tower and the towers across Hyrule are shut down, cutting her off from the other Champions, leaving her to fend for herself. She had no choice but to board Vah Ruta to deal with Ganon, but she encounters Waterblight Ganon, who awaited her. Mipha battles the monster and realizes that the monster is too powerful for her, and she is soon exhausted. Waterblight charges at her with a spiky ice flail and large ice blocks and Mipha braces herself for her end, but then a time portal appears, and an adult Prince Sidon blocks its lethal attacks, to Mipha's surprise.

Prince Sidon saves Mipha's life

Prince Sidon saves Mipha from Waterblight Ganon.

The portals have been created by Terrako, through Zelda's despondence over her father's apparent death and how bad it would have subsequentially turned out. Prince Sidon and Mipha work together to fight the demon that would have taken her life, but the odds eventually turn against them. Fortunately, Sidon's support for his sister provided Link and his friends enough time to arrive and bail them out and destroyed Waterblight Ganon. Mipha's exhaustion gets the best of her and Sidon leaves Vah Ruta after doing his mission to help Daruk and Yunobo and destroys the Igneo Talus. Mipha provided support in cooling the lava flow by spraying it with the water from Vah Ruta's trunk. After Fireblight Ganon is defeated, she eventually recovers physically to board Divine Beast Vah Rudania with the Gorons and Sidon. Mipha then questions Sidon if he really is her brother, whom he confirms it was so since he came from the future where she did not survive.

Mipha and two Sidons

Mipha and Sidon's counterparts.

In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, Mipha and the adult Sidon are defending Goponga Village from the monsters south of Zora's Domain with the other Zora soldiers. During the conflict, Sidon issues orders to the able-bodied soldiers to move on to their next task as Mipha is mending the injuries of some of them, who thank her for her efforts. She then sees Sidon and the others fighting more monsters and an Electric Moblin is headed in her direction. Thankfully, the young Sidon from her time had stepped between her and the Moblin with a Zora Spear in hand, and while he trips, he recovers and stands his ground. Horrified, Mipha desperately implores him to run away, but the adult Sidon intervenes in time and slays the Electric Moblin before it can harm either Mipha or his infant self. He checks to make sure that the infant isn't hurt and Mipha is relieved that they are fine and wonders what her little brother is doing in a place like this. Sidon reminds his younger self that he should never wonder off, but he does praise his courage and inspires him to become strong so he can protect his older sister, before trailing off, thinking about the Mipha in his own timeline which he was unable to defend, but both he and his younger flash their smiles which Mipha laughs in amusement.

Mipha later takes Sidon and Vah Ruta to help the soldiers stationed at Akkala Citadel to protect the stronghold from the monsters and the corrupted Guardians. She later joins them in order to heal the wounds on the soldiers. She also joins Revali and Teba, as well as Daruk and Yunobo on their Divine Beasts in providing support to Urbosa and Riju when they are outnumbered by the huge army of monsters around Fort Hateno. She helps back up Fort Hateno as well, where Princess Zelda finally awakens the power, she had been seeking through saving Link from Astor and the revived Blight Ganons, and Purah activates a failsafe that disables the main part of Calamity Ganon's army consisting of the hostile Guardians, giving Hyrule the upper hand. The princess gives a rousing speech and then rallies the army to not lose hope.

It is revealed that Master Kohga and the Yiga Clan had defected to Zelda's side since Astor betrayed them by sacrificing their footsoldiers' souls to revive the Blights in a desperate attempt at ensuring Hyrule's doom and Zelda's father is revealed to be alive thanks to the Ancient Guardian Shield that deflected the lasers and provided enough time for him and his Royal Guard to escape the castle.

Royal Zora siblings

Mipha and Sidon waits for Zelda's orders.

Purah then brings the Sheikah Towers back to working order and summons all of the troops from every tribe; Hylian, Zora, Goron, Rito, Gerudo, and Sheikah as well as the Yiga Clan, uniting them to push back Ganon's forces despite the influence of the Blood Moon reviving them a few times. Mipha joins the frey as well and charge towards Hyrule Castle with her friends to take it back. The Blight Ganons have once again been defeated by the heroes and several monsters have been taken out. Astor and Harbinger Ganon confront them one last time and are brought down as well. Astor is clearly unstable at this point and orders Ganon to devour the heroes before he is suddenly consumed by his Malice, with some of it taking control of Terrako, forcing Link and Zelda to battle it. Once Terrako is damaged enough, Link, Zelda, and the Champions, present and future, mourn its state and the lullaby it plays for her causes the princess to fully recall her childhood with it. She then swears to bring Ganon down once and for all and charge towards the sanctum where Ganon awaited them. At first, he proved to be too much for the warriors and Zelda resorts to trying to seal it away and her power reactivates Terrako and it uses the last of its strength to throw itself between the princess and Ganon, destroying itself and Ganon's invincibility. The heroes can now attack him with general attacks and Link uses the Master Sword to cleave Ganon and Zelda uses her power to seal him away for good. Peace returns to Hyrule and Terrako's screw sends the future Champions back to their time and they exchange heartfelt good-byes with their predecessors. Zelda wishes them light in their future as they vanish.

Sidon and Mipha part ways

Mipha and Sidon say good-bye.

Mipha takes part in searching for Terrako's fifty components with her friends and they were successful. At first, they were worried that Terrako wasn't working right, and Revali believes that it's still waking up from its nap, which Impa agrees with and tries to wake it up herself, but Zelda stops her and steps in front of it. Terrako comes back to life and the Champions smile in relief as it is reunited with Princess Zelda once more. During the credits, Terrako visits Mipha at Zora's Domain and she pets it in greetings before heading out. She is seen again at Hyrule Castle with her fellow Champions and everyone who took part in stopping the Calamity, and Daruk pulls them in for a group hug.

During the secret ending of the DLC, Sidon bonds with his infant self as Mipha comes to meet with them and pats both of them on the head and each of them flash their grins once more. She is also with each of the Champions, present and future as Terrako entertains them. Later, Mipha is at the Sheikah Tower with the other Champions, who are all back in their original attires watching on as Zelda and Terrako take off on a paraglider, admiring the beautiful scenery as they go and notes that their efforts in saving the kingdom from Ganon are worth it.

  • Mipha is the only Champion who speaks whenever Mipha's Grace is activated.
  • Mipha's Grace is the only ability that can be used once. It is also the only one that doesn't require a button to use it, as it is automatically utilized if Link's life gauge is depleted.
