The Goddess Hylia also known as Her Grace is a character from The Legend of Zelda series. She was the Goddess of Light in ancient times, entrusted by the Three Golden Goddesses with the task of protecting the Golden power of the Gods also known as the Triforce. Hylia created the Hylian people and the land of Skyloft in order to protect the last of humanity from the demon tribe, led by their king Demise. She gave up her immortality in order to be reincarnated as a mortal and her descendants became the Royal Family of Hyrule. Her spirit lives on reincarnated in the various incarnations of Princess Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword[]
after the Golden Goddesses were finished creating the world, they left the Triforce in Hylia's care before their departure from the world. Eventually, a crack opened up in the earth and Demise the Demon King and his demonic hordes came out, they wanted to make the world their own by using the Triforce. Hylia entrusted the Hylian with the Triforce and sent them to the sky and created a cloud barrier to separate the Earth from the sky along with the Goddess Sword which was sealed within the Statue of the Goddess. She then does battle against Demise and his forces and sealed him within the Sealed Grounds, and then a thousand years later, she gave up her immortality to be reborn as a mortal and being able to use the Triforce (As theods are not able to use it, but Demise can) and then entrusted Impa with the task of helping her future incarnation, Zelda.

She is mentioned by the Sheikah Monks waiting Link at the end of the Shrines and statues of her can be seen at various place in the game, when Link pray before one of the statues, he can exchange 4 Spirit Orbs for a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.
