Ninja Gaiden[]
Basilisk Mine Field only has one long room, but it introduces several new enemies as well as the "gacha" Bats that will knock Ryu into a pit if he blindly jumps over it. Many goodies can be found here, including multiple opportunities to get a Windmill Star. The middle of the level has an outside bridge with many Birds swarming Ryu at once.
Enemies[]
Valuable Pickups:[]
- Art of Flying Firewheel - The first lower path has a dead end, and this pickup is at the end.
- Windmill Shuriken - Right next to the first Jack O' Murderer.
- Shuriken - Right next tot he second Jack O' Murderer, just before the bridge.
- Time Freeze - The second lower path also has a dead end, holding this pickup. Getting it before the outside bridge allows Ryu to bypass several enemies.
- Windmill Shuriken - Just as Ryu gets back inside after the outside bridge section.
- Health Potion - As Ryu falls down from the main outside bridge, just below it on the left is this pickup. However, two Sword Ninjas will try to protect it.
- Jump & Slash Technique - Jumping over a pit after the Health Potion, this pickup is above a stationary mine-cart.
- 1-UP - Directly above the Spin Slash, it is easily accessible from the right upper area.
- Windmill Shuriken - The very last pickup before Ryu has to climb a ladder into the next level. It is directly above a platform on the tracks.
Trivia[]
- This is the second level where a 1-UP can be obtained (there are three 1-UPs across the game, and this holds the second).
- The music in the stage, titled "Unbreakable Determination", is reused for the game's credits.
