Mayor Turkey Lurkey is a minor charcther of Disney's 46th full-length feature Chicken Little.
He is voiced by the late Don Knotts.
Personality[]
Turkey Lurkey is a very incompetent official who often needs the help of his bodyguards to tell him what to say via cue cards. He is also easily distracted when he stops to pick up a dime, stops the entire town on the way to the baseball field, and misses a departing UFO.
He also seems very tense and nervous as he is always seen shaking and has a worried face and obviously doesn't know how to deal with difficult situations, offering Tic-Tacs to the aliens just because he kept quiet about what to do.
Biography[]
Turkey Lurkey is first seen in a ceremony that takes place in which his statue is crushed by the top of a water tower at the beginning of the film. He is later seen at a baseball game with one of his agents carrying signs telling Chicken Little what to do.
Later, when the aliens arrive at Oakey Oaks, he and the other citizens are seen in a state of panic as they become distracted and discover a penny and take it, temporarily stopping the entire mob. Later, he and the other citizens do not believe that aliens exist, even though they are discovered by Chicken Little, Runt, Abby, and Fish.
Later, as the alien invasion prepares an ambush, Turkey Lurkey offers the aliens several items in hopes of not being abducted to no avail, and is kidnapped anyway. Later, Turkey Lurkey is seen with the other citizens brought back to Oakey Oaks as the aliens rebuild the town. When the aliens leave and return to space during the end of the movie, he and the other citizens are watching the new Chicken Little movie. He is later seen during the credits singing "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with one of his agents flipping through word cards.
