Classic toxic masculinity Chad, that's never gonna end up problematic.
~ Thad’s sarcastic comment to his friend Chad offscreen and his first line in the series.
Are you kidding me? You're the WDF right? Defend!
~ Thad trying to convince the WDF to protect the colony, although with little luck.

Thad is a supporting character in the animated web horror comedy series Murder Drones.

He is a Worker Drone who was classmates with Uzi Doorman, being one of the few Worker Drones who is friendly towards her prior to her meeting N. Uzi also had a crush on Thad, but ended up losing interest in him and gained feelings for N.

He is voiced by Sean Chiplock, who also voiced Teba in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero, and Gunvolt "The Azure Striker" in Azure Striker Gunvolt 3.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • While his debut shows him teasing his friend Chad offscreen that his "toxic masculinity" would never end up problematic, the way he says that seems to be sarcastic, and we never really see much of this beyond a one-time joke.
  • Unlike everyone in the colony, Thad was the only Worker Drone who treated Uzi with kindness, being friendly to her and even worrying when she got injured in class.
  • He willingly risks his life to protect his colony when they were attacked by V and J, and tried to motivate the WDF to help defend others, although with little success.
  • He was shown to have felt sympathy for Uzi when she left the colony due to being angry at her father for leaving her to die.
  • He went to Uzi and returned her railgun back to her.
  • Despite N being a Disassembly Drone, he had no contempt towards him for the drones he killed and becomes friends with him after he chose to help Uzi and the others.
  • He told Uzi about how J's body crawled away and the recent disappearances in the colony, helping her and N find out what was happening so they could stop more deaths.
  • He was grateful for Uzi and N saving him and even invited them to his party as a way of owing them back.
  • He helped in convincing his classmates that N and V weren't going to hurt them.
  • He went with Lizzy to help her with her friend, unaware it was V and they were trying to help in stopping the Solver and J.
  • He and Lizzy tried to fight J to stop her from helping the Solver destroy Copper 9.
  • He tried to save Lizzy when she was attacked by the Sentinel Sparky.
  • He gave Uzi her railgun so she could finish off the Solver and J, which ended up helping in saving Copper 9 and the universe from the Solver's plans.
  • He saved Lizzy from falling after the fight with the Solver was over.
  • He went to Uzi's class presentation to cheer for her.
  • Unlike almost every other character in this series, Thad has no corrupting qualities, and is easily one of the nicest people in the show.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • While comparing him to Uzi, N and V is unfair due to the massive resource gap between them, he fails the admirable standards to Khan and Nori, the former being the one who built the outpost doors which protected the colony and hundreds of drones in it for years, as well as saving N in order to help in fighting the Solver which ends up being more pivotal than Thad giving Uzi her railgun, and Nori who in addition to ordering Khan to build the doors and spending years trying to stop the Solver, ends up being very pivotal in the Solver's defeat by not only giving Uzi her pickaxe which she used more than her railgun in the fight, but also told Uzi how to stop the Solver by destroying Cyn's heart. This is minor however since Thad's low resources due to being a regular Worker Drone, as well as his willingness to put his life on the line to protect the hundreds in the colony, makes him admirable enough to pass the general standards.

Trivia[]

  • Alongside Khan Doorman, Thad is one of the two characters in Murder Drones to be Near Pure Good.
