Rabia is the leader of the Umbrum in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comics, and the main antagonist of the comic Siege of the Crystal Empire.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Hundreds of years prior to the series, Rabia and the Umbrum army attacked the Crystal Empire. They went about burning the homes of the Crystal Ponies. They served only to terrorize and destroy. Their goal was to destroy the entire Crystal Empire before moving on to the rest of Equestria.
- It's noted that the Umbrum's ultimate goal was to wipe out all life in Equestria.
- Before they were completely sealed though, Rabia produced a pony/Umbrum hybrid in the form of Sombra.
- When Sombra became an adult, Rabia contacted him through a dark crystal, informing him of his origin, and telling him to enslave the Crystal Ponies and force them to dig to free her and the Umbrum so they could destroy Equestria.
- This led to Sombra turning evil, enslaving the Crystal Empire, and the empire vanishing for more than a thousand years.
- Radiant Hopehad been manipulated by Rabia and the Umbrum into thinking they were misunderstood by the ponies and were harmless.
- Twilight and Cadence are captured and brought before Sombra and the Umbrum, with Rabia telling them that if they don't tell them where Twilight's friends are, Sombra will turn Shining Armor to stone.
- When Cadence gives them the information they want, Rabia tells Sombra to turn them all to stone anyway.
- Rabia puts a stop to the Mane 6 and tells Sombra to turn Cadence and Twilight to stone.
- Rabia tells Sombra to destroy the Crystal Heart.
- Worth noting is that it has been established that without the Crystal Heart, the Crystal Empire would freeze over.
- She doesn't display any genuine care for her fellow Umbrum or her "son" Sombra.
- While she has a few comedic moments like the reference to Tarkin destroying Alderaan, they are too brief to detract from how seriously of a threat she was taken.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She suffers from Fridge Horror. While it's stated in the show that destroying the Crystal Heart will cause the empire to freeze over, the idea that the ponies would outright die from the freezing is never specifically acknowledged in either the show or comic. (Being a children's based franchise, death is pretty much strictly forbidden from being mentioned in it. The words death, die, and kill are forbidden words in the show and comic. While it's mentioned the empire would freeze over, that's all that's mentioned.)
