Boo (also known as Devil Mario) is the main antagonist of the 2005 Mario sprite animation series Power Star by Daniel Sun.
He is a Boo who possessed the body of Mario, used him as a pawn to gather the legendary Power Stars in order to enact their plan of destroying all life and creation.
He was voiced by Deven Mack.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He, with other Boos, possessed Mario and took control of his body.
- He attacked and killed many Toads who got in his way.
- He had other Boos to possess the Toads, while using them to acquire all the Power Stars to help them destroy all of creation.
- He brutally killed Luigi and Princess Peach, while laughing sadistically in doing so.
- Upon giving Mario brief control of his body out of sadistic pleasure to torment him further, seeing everyone dead around him. This ultimately drove Mario to suicide in order to stop the Boos' plan.
- Unlike other Boos, he is shown to have dialogue and personality, preventing him from being a Generic Doomsday Villain.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While he is undeniably heinous in his goals and what he does in the series, he ultimately relies on Fridge Horror. As the series never makes it clear whether he is the leader of the Boos, or if he is simply part of them. and with the way he speaks, as well as the visuals we get to see of all the boo possessed toads, he is clearly part of a species who all want to destroy everything. Because of this, he has trouble truly standing out from his brethren. However, there are implications that Devil Mario is the leader with how he is referred to in the first person when it comes to his goals and with how he seems to speak for everyone, therefore it is minor.
- Since the Boo possessing Mario is part of an always chaotic evil species, his moral agency is questionable. However, he still shows an incredibly sadistic personality, and he is the only one of the boos with proper characterization, making this prevention minor.
Trivia[]
- He, Mr. Virtual, and Luigi (Mario Madness Lyrical Cover) are the only Mario's Madness characters to be Near Pure Evil.
- He's also the only one in Content Cosmos to be NPE, as the other characters are too comedic to qualify.
