Background[]
The Type-16 shuttlepod was designated in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual by Rick Sternbach as an uprated model of the smaller Type-15 shuttlepod. Although the shuttlepod only made this one appearance, it is likely the type that the Albert Einstein belongs to, because of the larger inner accommodations seen in The Star Lost comics.
