The Hikari (光ひかり, Hikari) family is a family seen in the Mega Man Battle Network video game series and MegaMan NT Warrior anime series. They are the family of the main character, Lan Hikari, and their actions and lives are the focal point of the Battle Network franchise and its related media. The males of the family are known to become brilliant and highly respected scientists, often changing the scientific world as its known each generation, and have a strong sense of justice and will to do what is right.

In the games[]

In the video game series, the Hikari family is the most represented family with the most members shown, with 7 (including Mayl and Patch) members appearing in the series. MegaMan.EXE is revealed to be Hub Hikari, Lan's twin brother who died of HBD in birth reincarnated, and at the end of the series, Mayl marries Lan and they have a son, Patch, who is unseen.

In the anime[]

In the anime series, MegaMan is not Lan's brother, and Lan and Maylu are not explicitly shown to enter into a relationship or marry or have children during the course of the series. They are also not the family with the most members shown, this honor instead going to the Zap family, with 5 members shown. Despite Haruka being present in all games at all times inside Lan's house and can be interacted with and plays a part in the games when Lan is home, she is rarely seen in the anime, appearing in only a few episodes in the entire series and only for brief moments.

Trivia[]

• Despite fans theorizing and generally accepting Geo Stelar and his family to be descended from the Hikari family. This is most likely be false, due to the cancelled concept of Mega Man Star Force 4 introducing Kazuma, who is a direct Hikari descendant.
