Singapore is a country in Southeast Asia and the world's only island city-state. A former British colony but now functions as an independent state as of 1966.[1]

20th Century[]

In 1940, the British Embassy in Singapore hired Dakor the Mystic to locate and rescue one of their agents who had been captured by a Chinese pirate named Mungo.[2] With the outbreak of World War II, the Imperial Japanese Army occupied Singapore. In 1944 the Japanese built a tunnel from Singapore to Australia overseen by Captain Krashyu for the purpose of an inland invasion. The tunnel was exposed and flooded by the Sub-Mariner.[3]

In 1971, Midnight Sun battled Half-Face in Singapore.[4]

Modern Age[]

When Magneto escaped to Singapore after a confrontation between the X-Men and the Avengers, The Mutant Underground of Singapore located him and asked him to lead them in their war against humanity. However, Magneto was trying to change his ways at that moment and he rejected the offer saying war was not the answer to the problems of the mutants and that he preferred to learn to live peacefully. Magneto was a wanted man and he was followed by government agents who attacked everyone at The Light's headquarters. While there were many causalities, the master of magnetism stopped the soldiers and then joined The Light and the rest of the Singaporean mutants in a another secret home, a ship. There, Magneto used some circuitry which combined with his helmet gave him mental powers that allowed him to dominate the minds of men. He intended to use this ability to erase anti-mutant feelings from all humans. The Light tried to persuade him to use his powers to enslave mankind but after trying his power on Captain America, he was surprised to find that the Sentinel of Liberty had no anti-mutant feelings as he tought and ashamed, he destroyed the circuits and surrendered to the Avenger to face trial, leaving The Light and his group behind. Some days later a group of mutant haters attacked the ship in which The Light and his group were hiding killing practically all aboard.[5]

The Sunic Pharmacopoeia based in Singapore invented the synthetic Facade Virus. Sunic hired the Lightmaster to develop a more stable version of the virus. Lightmaster was then confronted and defeated by Cable.[6] He eventually took control of the virus.[7]

Jackie Singapore a native of Singapore noted to be richer than both Tony Stark and Bill Gates, and 17% of Singapore's population thinks the country is named after him.[8]

The X-Corps had a building in Singapore was destroyed by Trolls working for Stripmine.[9]

X-23 (Laura Kinney) and Gambit (Remy LeBeau) charter a boat from Singapore to Madripoor.[10]
