Michi Sasaki (Earth-616)

Michi Sasaki, along with her husband and child, were kidnapped by the villain Doctor Demonicus. Demonicus performed genetic experiments on the family and mutated them to gain superpowers.^[1] Michi gained power to control fire and was hypnotized to believe that she was Pele, the goddess of fire.^[2]

After her transformation, Michi and the mutant Sunfire were sent to attack Pearl Harbor. Following their defeat at the hands of Namor the Sub-Mariner, Hawkeye, and Spider-Woman, Pele regained her memories and was recaptured by the other Pacific Overlords.^[2] When Doctor Demonicus revealed that he had reversed the mutation of Pele's son, Kenjiro, he allowed Pele, Taifu, and Kenjiro to leave the island of Demonica in peace.^[3]

Fire Generation: Sasaki gained powers due to genetic experiments on her by Doctor Demonicus.^[1] She was able to create fireballs to attack her enemies.^[2]

• Self-Propelled Flight: Sasaki was able to use fire to propel herself into air and fly.^[2]
• Fire and Heat Immunity: She was immune to fire and intense heat of an active volcano.^[2]
