History
During the Age of Acheron circa 13,000 BC, Kheperu was an Acheronian wizard living in Python.
He convinced many lesser mages that Queen Xaltana was possessed and entombed her alive, letting Bafomai to be crowned King of Acheron. While the Hyborians attacked Acheron, Bafomai and Kheperu also wished to slay Xaltana's brother and Acheronian archmage Xaltotun, the high priest of Set, who was backed by his own powerful faction. Thugra Khotan, the other Acheronian archmage, fled Stygian-ruled, and thus neutral, to avoid being forced to choose sides,[1] and Kheperu filled in in Thugra Khothan's place as the king's wizard. Kheperu intended to have every sorcerer in Acheron rally to him if Xaltotun was removed, but Bafomai was more hesitant due to the spells Xaltotun had woven to protect Python.[2]
To prevent from civil war,[1] Kheperu had the idea of setting up ritual arena games,[2] where slaves were sacrificed in increase numbers every day.
After travelling Hyborian Age Conan and Red Sonja were captured by the rebels to the yoke of Acheron, Conan was sent to slay Bafomai (due to his Cimmerian origins, as King Baformai's elite guard was only made of Cimmerians). Kheperu destroyed the rebels accompanying Conan, who crushed Kheperu's throat, killing him, just before the Hyborians assailed the city and caused the Fall of Python and Acheron.[2]See Also
