Jason Halifax was once the C.E.O. of a big oil company. He built a super-mansion in Broxton, Oklahoma, and used it to commit a series of undisclosed crimes. Bodies were eventually discovered in the mansion and the police taped it off. Sometime later, during the Siege of Asgard, Thor and the Sentry obliterated the mansion in a battle against each other, thus also wiping out any clue to the crimes committed by Jason Halifax. It didn't take long until the public stopped caring about what had transpired at Halifax House.
Inspired by this story, the Beyond Corporation decided to set up divisions focused on the creation of heroes and villains alike, intending to use them to control the news cycle and get rid of anything or anyone for their clients. They even named the protocol specifically developed around that idea after Jason Halifax.[1]
