Jaddak (Earth-616)

Jaddak was a Skrull trader who sought to acquire the Resurrection Stone, a mystical artifact capable of bringing the dead back to life. Jaddak doggedly pursued the Stone's then current owner, an archaeologist named Krru, across twelve solar systems until they both crash landed on Earth. In a last ditch effort to hide the Stone, Krru split in in two and sent one half to different points in Earth's history.

Jaddak decided he would need help in recovering the Stone. Posing as the Avengers' butler Jarvis, Jaddak poisoned Beast's girlfriend Vera. Using her as leverage, Jaddak promised to revive Vera with the Stone if the Avengers retrieved it for him.

Once the Avengers recovered the Stone, Beast was sent to Jaddak's ship to deliver it to him. After considering the amount of power he was handing over, Beast reneged on the deal and crushed the Stone with his bare hands. In a blind fury, Beast attacked Jaddak and beat him into submission.^[3]

• Skrull Shape-Shifting: Like other Skrulls, Jaddak is a shape-shifter. They can mentally cause the unstable molecules that comprise his or her body to become pliant, enabling him or her to assume other forms through muscular expansion and contraction. Once a new shape has been assumed, it takes a conscious act of will to assume another form or revert to natural. Hence, Skrulls do not spontaneously lose their assumed form when asleep or unconscious. Skrulls in altered form will, however, revert to their original forms at the moment of death.^[2]
