History
The Equinox Blade was a katana that was forged during the Kamakura period in Japan. According to legend, the sword drove its swordsmith mad before consuming his soul. The Equinox Blade eventually ended up in the British Museum. After it took the soul of a security guard, the museum attempted to sell it off to a private buyer. Lady Deathstrike attempted to steal it and used it to take the souls of the security guards but was stopped by Shang-Chi, who also came to take the sword on behalf of MI-6. Despite getting stabbed and nearly having his soul consumed by Lady Deathstrike, Shang-Chi was able to defeat her and take the Equinox Blade. Rather than let it fall into the wrong hands, Shang-Chi broke the sword, returning all the souls it stole back to their bodies. Despite this, Lady Deathstrike was able to recover a piece of the blade, which was glowing with energy.[1]
