History
When Codex took over the United States of America, the Avengers were converted into his symbiote enforcers. Once the Symbiote Hive had cemented its control, the Avengers began dealing out brutal punishments to those who broke the Hive's laws.
When Venom and Virus were warped from Earth-616 to Earth-1051, the Avengers responded to their conflict and attempted to arrest Venom. When Virus attacked in an attempt to kill Venom, the Avengers turned their attention to him and brutally beat him before arresting him for the crime of possessing anti-symbiote weaponry. Taking him before Codex, the Avengers explained he was from another universe and unmasked him.[1]
