History

Tony Stark shared a similar history to his MCU counterpart. He was kidnapped by the Ten Rings and during his capture, he and Ho Yinsen built the first Iron Man Armor. Tony used the armor to escape but Yinsen was killed. Tony was rescued and returned the US and declared his company was no longer going to produce weapons, which Obadiah Stane disagreed with.

Tony upgraded his suit after which the Maggia attempted to break into the Stark Corporation's Armory after Stark stopped selling them weapons, which he was able to fend off. He revealed to Rhodey and Pepper Potts his secret identity. Rhodes informed him of a weapons transport in Afghanistan where Iron Man confronted former Stark Industries worker Blacklash (Marc Scarlotti). He traveled to the Maggia's compound to destroy the rest of the weapons and confronted Madame Masque and then destroyed the Maggia's flying fortress.

Unbeknownst to Stark, Stane recovered Stark's first Iron Man armor and allied himself with Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), to create a power source. Iron Man confronted A.I.M. when they attacked a Russian nuclear facility and confronted Titanium Man. Stark then confronted A.I.M. when they attacked a military ship in the Arctic where he defeated the Controller.

A.I.M. forces under the command of Titanium Man attacked Stark Industries in an attempted by Stane to steal the Iron Man suit. Iron Man was ambushed by Stane who stole his arc reactor and kidnapped Pepper. He saved Pepper from the A.I.M. facility and prevented the explosion of their reactor. He traveled to their island and shut down their operations after defeating the Melter.

Stane used the stolen technology to build his own Iron Monger Armor and the two battle atop Stark Industries, where Stark has Pepper overload the building's arc reactor killing Stane. Back in his workshop, Tony ponders his position in life and decides to continue to be Iron Man. [1]

Some time after this, it is presumed that events similar if not identical to his MCU counterpart occur where Rhodey becomes War Machine.

Iron Man learns that the Roxxon Corporation are attempting to duplicate his armors without success and discovered them attempting to steal an archived version of J.A.R.V.I.S. from the dataspine. However, Roxxon drop an EMP bomb which disables his armor and after the power reserves in Iron Man's armor activate he decided to destroy the Dataspine to protect the archive. However, the group manage to make off with JARVIS' A.I..

Iron Man is contacted by S.H.I.E.L.D. director Colonel Nick Fury to gain his help against General Valentin Shatalov. After defeating some of Roxxon's forces, Iron Man learned the Shatalov was working with A.I.M. to complete a Crimson Dynamo Armor. Iron Man tracked down Black Widow who was working as a spy inside Shatalov's force and rescued her while he and War Machine battled Shatalov in his Crimson Dynamo armor. After Shatalov is defeated, the group learn that former Stark employee Kearson DeWitt and A.I.M. were behind the theft of J.A.R.V.I.S.'s AI to create a new super-weapon Ultimo.

Iron Man and War Machine confronted DeWitt after he has used his PROTEAN technology to merge with a giant metal robot to become Ultimo. After a lengthy battle, they destroy Ultimo and rescue JARVIS.[2]
