Like what's on your claw. Only godlier.

Known as the Metal of the Gods,[1] Adamantine was an extremely durable metallic ore commonly used by the Olympian god Hephaestus.

History

Legendary Olympian metal for which Adamantium was named after, was used in Hercules' Golden Mace and the Gates of Pluto.[citation needed]

During a fight between Wolverine and Cyber, a mass of Adamantine was accidentally unearthed. Being sentient, the ancient metal saw how Adamantium was so widely spread, and feeling outraged at this new metal, which it saw as a false pretender, being used by superhumans it decided to replace it. The Adamantine planned to take over those who had been using Adamantium, starting with Cyber and replacing his metal parts with itself.[3] It managed to spread itself to Lady Deathstroke and Constrictor who it mind-controlled into subduing Wolverine, allowing it to enter his body and replace his Adamantium skeleton with its mass.[4]

Properties

Adamantine had a golden appearance and several magical properties including:

  • Enhanced Durability: Adamantine is nigh-indestructible.[5] Adamantine can withstand direct blows from Mjolnir,[6][7] deflect massive blasts of concussive energy,[1] and repel close range bullets.[8]
  • Psychic Immunity: Adamantine can provide some resistance to telepathic attacks. Howlett's adamantine-laced skull protected him from the psychic attacks of several powerful telepaths (including Savior).[9][10]
  • Energy Disruption and Energy Absorption: Adamantine is able to redirect and disrupt magic and energy, as well as being able to hurt psionic and energy based beings.[11]
  • Possession: The Adamantine was able to take possession of people once it entered their bodies.[3]

Applications[]
