​ ​The Mark XXIII Extreme Heat Suit (or Shades) was created after the battle of NYC. It got it's name Shades because it is able to withstand extreme temperatures.

Upgrades[]
It can withstand extreme temperatures in heat because of it's multiple-layered and anti-heat armor plating, which was built within the suit to prevent the suit from melting and eventually burning Tony inside of it. This was later added to the Shot Gun armor. However the areas where weaponry usually are we're replaced with special plating. It's armor color has changed to Desert Military Color.
History[]
Iron Man 3[]
The suit was created after the New York battle. Tony realized that there couldn't be one suit that could do anything, so he started building suits specializing in certain areas, such as heat. After creating Shades, it was placed into the Hall of Armor along with the rest of the Iron Legion. When the "House Party Protocol" was ordered, it and the rest of the Iron Legion flew to assist Tony in the Extremis battle, which it would have been a great advantage to the heat the soldiers used. It was most likely destroyed by the "Clean Slate Protocol" instead of the Extremis soldiers.
