She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a Disney+ series that is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which follows Bruce Banner's lawyer cousin Jennifer Walters who becomes a female Hulk. It was released on August 18, 2022.

• In 1989, it was rumored that She-Hulk would appear and co-star in the TV film The Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989), but it did not happen. Around that time, a TV series about the character was planned for ABC starring 6'1" volleyball champ Gabrielle Reece as She-Hulk. It would have been a direct sequel to the 70s series with Bill Bixby. But the project was officially declared dead in 1991 because they couldn't find the right actress to play her alter-ego Jennifer Walters. Eventually, a live-action film about She-Hulk was being developed in the early 1990s. Larry Cohen was set to write and direct the film, while Brigitte Nielsen ended up being cast as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk. Although Nielsen posed for photos dressed as the character, the film was scrapped and never happened.
• While at a press junket for Ghost Rider (2007), Nicolas Cage wanted to produce a She-Hulk movie and having Eva Mendes as the titular character.
• According to Cory Everson, she and Oliver Stone were discussing shooting the live action TV series with her as She-Hulk and met with Stan Lee and was 100% onboard but never produced the series and she believe everyone got busy shooting movies.
• It was revealed that Marvel Studios was working on a Hulk/She-Hulk team-up series for Disney+ and according to the original report, Mark Ruffalo would reprise his role of Bruce Banner/Hulk, as his character would pass the baton to She-Hulk during the series.
• The original creation of the title character came from the success of The Incredible Hulk (1977). During that series' run, Producer Kenneth Johnson was rumored to be considering creation of a female version of the Hulk. The character would be used on the series with the intent of possibly spinning her off into her own series (as Johnson had done with the The Six Million Dollar Man (1974)/The Bionic Woman (1976)). Their plan was to take David's sister, a character already established by early episodes, and have her receive an emergency blood transfusion from him. Due to the show's cancellation, this story never came to pass. However, Marvel Comics learned of this development and created She-Hulk so they would own the rights to any such character. The character's comic-book origins turned out to be similar to the plan in the comics. The blood transfusion is still the reason for her mutation, but she is Dr. Banner's cousin rather than his sister. Furthermore, the character was established to have a milder version of her cousin's Hulk condition since she keeps her personality, albeit less inhibited, and her intelligence and continues to work as an attorney in her Hulk form.
• In Feb. 2020 it was rumored Marvel Studios was looking for an "Alison Brie" type for the titular role of Jennifer Walters in their Disney+ series. Several fans of Brie started asking why not cast Brie herself which started rumors she may be up for the role, though she wasn't.
• It was announced on December 10, 2020 that Mark Ruffalo will be reprising his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk along with Tim Roth reprising his role as Emil Blonsky/Abomination from The Incredible Hulk (2008).
• Marvel's first full solo Hulk project. The Incredible Hulk (2008) was partly developed and distributed by Universal Studios. Up to this day, Marvel Studios still haven't received the distribution rights to a Hulk film from Universal. This explains why a Hulk film featuring Mark Ruffalo could not be made despite Ruffalo taking the role in The Avengers (2012).
• On July 6, 2021, the site The Direct reported that there will be "many instances" of Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) breaking the fourth wall, or talking directly to the audience. The report also claimed that Jennifer will even be aware of and acknowledge that she is a character within the MCU. Both of these aspects of the character were a major part of the 1985 graphic novel and continuing comic series entitled The Sensational She-Hulk by writer/artist John Byrne.
• This series is part of phase 4 of the MCU.
• When asked during an interview in April 2020 about his possibly appearing on this series, Mark Ruffalo said, "There's nothing completely at a place where it's a done deal. There's some talk of having Banner/Hulk show up in She-Hulk. If we come up with something good, that would be really interesting. Right now that's about it. That's all there is on the table."
• During an interview with the Sudbury Star on Oct. 15, 2020, Tatiana Maslany denied the reports that she's playing She-Hulk for Disney+. She said it isn't a real thing and it's "like a press release that's gotten out of hand. It's totally not. I've been connected to these things in the past and press has gotten onto it, but it's not actually a thing, unfortunately." Then she was officially confirmed as She-Hulk two months later and she tweeted: "It's offishulk!!!! Beyond excited to be Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk for @disneyplus @marvelstudios !!!!!!!!!"
• Gillian Jacobs, Betty Gilpin, Zoë Chao, and Alison Brie were considered for the role of Jennifer Walters before the casting of Tatiana Maslany. Brie was originally considered the "archetype" for the character during the casting process.
• The second MCU project to acknowledge the events of The Incredible Hulk (2008) after Bruce Banner quoting "I broke Harlem" in Avenger (2012). Although William Hurt reprised his role of Thaddeus Ross in Captain America: Civil War (2016), he never acknowledged the events of that film.
• In April 2021, the official website for the State of Georgia, where several movie and TV shows are produced, added She-Hulk to its list of projects currently in production. It still hasn't been announced when the show will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service.
• In June 2021, actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the first live action Hulk in The Incredible Hulk TV series (1977) by wearing green make up on his exposed skin, said he believes that Disney+'s upcoming She-Hulk should not too much CGI. In an interview with TooFab, Ferrigno said he liked the idea of She-Hulk getting a TV show but explained how CGI often overshadows storytelling. He said "the more authentic, organic the character can be, the more believable." He didn't specify if he meant an actress should play She-Hulk in green make up rather than creating a CGI character or if he meant using too much CGI in general.
• It was announced in April 2021 that the Tony Award-winning star of Hamilton (2020), actress Renée Elise Goldsberry, joined the cast as a character named Amelia. No further details were given about her character.
