Pointeys (also called Spring Plants) are Pokey-like plants that appear in Yoshi's Island DS, they are seen residing in the ground but as Yoshi approaches, they stick their heads out and linger around bouncing Yoshi back if he hits them, the height of a Pointey can vary and this determines whether Yoshi can jump over them or has to defeat them to progress, despite this, Pointeys are completely harmless and can't cause any actual damage. Pointeys are commonly found in earlier levels of the game (such as those in World 1 and World 2) and appear scarcely in the latter levels. Pointeys cannot be swallowed but are not very durable at all and can easily be defeated with stomps, egg tosses, or Baby DK's Dash Attack, tossing an egg at a Pointey will make it appear in the Museum.
