Bells are the main currency featured in the Animal Crossing franchise. In spite of their name, bells are shaped more like coins with a star on their faces.
In Animal Crossing, if you have fewer than one hundred Bells, it is a coin with a star on it.

These are the replacement of coins that appear on the Animal Crossing round in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. They are shaped like a bag with a star on it. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the Happy Home Paradise DLC there is a similar currency called Poki. Poki are just like Bells, except they are pink with a yellow star and doesn't work on the island you live on.
