Requesting inputs

Greetings,

Before few months I had rescued a new user's article Women related laws in Pakistan subsequently in May some one placed a merger notice discussed @ Talk:Women in Pakistan#Merger proposal. Now it is almost over 3 months, I am unaware how it is supposed to proceed further. May be you can help out or give inputs.

Thanks and warm regards

Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 03:46, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Bookku I am neither an admin nor a regular participant in AfD nor merge discussions. I honestly have no idea what the rules are, nor where to find them. That being said, I believe AfD is a one week function, so it seems logical to me that merge requests would have the same time line, but I don't know. The only participants in the merge request do not support a merger, but can you just remove the banners? I don't know that either. Perhaps @Rosiestep, Megalibrarygirl, and Ritchie333: who are all admins can assist? SusunW (talk) 12:50, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the ping, SusunW. I voiced my Strong Oppose to a merger on the talkpage in question. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:47, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Bookku, most discussions of this nature are for seven days. So far it seems like there have only been four participants. Two have opposed, you commented and the nominator obviously agrees with the merger. It's not enough to overturn consensus which is the current state of the article. However, posting a link to the discussion on relevant projects could boost participation. --ARoseWolf 13:54, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf I guess my thought is that it's been 3 months. Far longer than one week, and regardless of how many participants the merger proposal hasn't gained support. I'm not weighing in on the merits of the merger, just that ample time has passed without support of the proposal. I think it should be closed, I just don't know how to do that. SusunW (talk) 14:11, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
I went to go close a discussion yesterday but someone beat me to it. I think I found the template here. When you click on the template it gives you options for being a non-admin closer. --ARoseWolf 14:22, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Nope, not gonna happen. Wikitechnology and admin functions are above my paygrade, ARoseWolf. LOL SusunW (talk) 14:30, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Oh, girl, you made me laugh so hard with that response. Everything is above my paygrade. I think the last actual paycheck I received for anything I did was a decade ago. I always test it on my sandbox before I actually publish it and I still use the preview screen. I am deathly afraid of breaking it. (lol) --ARoseWolf 14:38, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Yay, ARoseWolf I succeeded in making you laugh. Absolutely sure I will break it. Avoid it like the plague. My plan is always to develop enough of a network that I know who can help when the technical stuff exceeds my comfort zone (which is often). SusunW (talk) 14:40, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
You been holding out on me, chica? I need access to Susun's list of wiki-technicians. --ARoseWolf 14:47, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
LOL. Pretty much, it includes everybody except me. I have a slew of language experts and admins for doing stuff I have no clue how to do. Then there are GRuban, GreenMeansGo and Adam Cuerden for photos; Headbomb for referencing issues; Ser Amantio di Nicolao for categories or automated edits, and a whole bunch more. Just ask if you need help. I probably know someone or know someone who knows someone. SusunW (talk) 15:10, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
It's True SusunW has helped me good number of times through the networking prowess hence I keep coming to you for help. Thanks to both of you and warm regards Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 15:20, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
SusunW, Any cute guys that wouldn't mind a half bald (I do have fuzz now but I prefer wearing my hats over a wig) 33-year old hippie? Must like sub-zero temps, know how to chop wood for my wood stoves and how to make me laugh. (lol) But seriously that's quite the list. I've had discussions with most of them. Never had the pleasure of meeting Headbomb but proper referencing is important so they would be very valuable in that regard. --ARoseWolf 15:24, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

I am happy to try to help Bookku. My own expertise doesn't extend much beyond research and writing. Oh, and I totally failed to mention Gog the Mild, who repeatedly helps me with stuff I cannot remember how to do, like templates, though he's showed me a dozen times or more. I always screw them up. He's also an expert at FA (and pushes me to improve and review articles), and like Ian I rely on him for lots of stuff, but hate to ask often because he is always busy with duties. I've never met any en.wp editors that I know of ARoseWolf, except Rosie, in person. Sorry, you'll have to do your own matchmaking ;) SusunW (talk) 15:33, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

There are so many who have helped me here. I've needed every ounce of it and I am so so, so grateful. I know who to come to if I am stuck while doing research though. You are a phenomenal researcher and exhaustive. Your writing skills speak for themselves. I feel as though I've met most of the ones I've encountered here. We often allow our character traits, colors and personality sneak through in our writing style. For me there is no way to sneak anything in. My character wheel is like, nope, we going off like the grand finally of a firework display...woo-hoo...yeah!!! (Jazz hands) 👐 --ARoseWolf 13:14, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
Bookku Just so you know, I am still working on this. I've asked another admin who doesn't know how to close the merge request, but knows someone who may know. So, we're waiting to have them take a look at it. SusunW (talk) 15:58, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

Thanks, let it take it's course of time, not too much of hurry either. Btw I am traveling so some delays likely from my side for couple of weeks , Thanks for your continued support. It's very nice of you. Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 18:34, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
I just wanted to say thanks for informing me about women's nationality issue. I did not know and glad your bothered to provide input. Hopefully that guideline is improved to make it easier and accurate to the sources for your articles. TataofTata (talk) 20:07, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
Thank you TataofTata it means a lot to know that one person actually heard me. I honestly hate participating in policy guideline discussions. They often turn into 'splaning sessions where a whole group of participants ignore discussion and attempt to control the situation by the instruction to read the guidelines or diverting to something else (like in this case where both you and I said follow the sources and then the participants acted as if we both said ignore the sources). ô.Ṍ It's truly frustrating, as improvements could be made, but won't be. Gerda's September corner

September songs

Omas gegen Rechts - enjoy strong women! I thought of Yoninah on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:55, 7 September 2021 (UTC)

Beautiful Gerda Arendt. I truly miss Yoninah and think about her so often. SusunW (talk) 04:42, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
I think we may have gotten along well. I have told Gerda before that I miss her though I never had the opportunity to talk with her if that's even possible. When I was a younger girl I had a friend that I loved so much. She was the first friend I made after coming to the US. She was home schooled as I was and we used to play a lot. She went on a trip with her family one summer and she drowned in a lake. I experienced so much grief over the loss of my friend believing I would never recover or find a friend to love again. My grandmother saw this and I remember her saying something in Hebrew that made me inquisitive. תגיד לא בצער שהיא כבר לא, אלא חיה בהוקרה שהיתה "Say not with sorrow that she is no more, but live in thankfulness that she was." How can I be thankful that my friend is gone? "You miss the point, Genevieve. That is not what the saying says." I remember the tone in her voice so distinctly. lol We are allowed in life to experience sorrow and express it, especially when it involves loss of someone we care about. "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." We say what we live. If we live in sorrow for what we have lost then we miss what we have gained by them living. I gained a friend that helped me see that someone outside of those who I felt had to care about me actually cared about me. I gained a friend I could equally love and pour myself into. We gained from Yoninah's presence here, her demeanor, her experience, her voice. It still echo's and I hear it. --ARoseWolf 19:32, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf, Yoninah and my relationship was not an easy one in the beginning. We had to build it over a number of years. Early on, I remember she wanted me to document that Madame, Mrs. and Señora were the same thing. I was like, are you serious? It took a while for us to find our footing, but eventually we both realized we could help each other and truly just wanted to create the best articles we could from the sources we could help each other find. I often searched for newspaper clippings for her and she often helped me with Hebrew sources. We both enjoyed collaborating with GRuban and learning from each other's journey. In a way, I feel that when we were benefiting the most from our relationship it was stolen by her death. I truly miss her and am so thankful that we found our way to each other before she was gone. I have found that often people are not long on your path, but the lessons they taught are life-long. SusunW (talk) 20:08, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
That is sweet music, Susun. Death does steal them from us, so true. You are blessed to have shared those experiences with her. How true it is that their lessons are lasting. All of those I looked to for guidance as a young girl are gone. Yet I still hear their voices in my heart and the lessons they taught me, the experiences they shared, have guided me and continue to guide me in life. --ARoseWolf 20:17, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Sweet music! Did you see the review I linked to on her talk? Of "How My Daughter’s Short Life Changed Mine". (look for Angels) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:47, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt, I hadn't seen it, but yes, that is a lovely piece. The realm of souls that surround us. Exactly! We are all pieces of others who have impacted us and made us grow. SusunW (talk) 21:37, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
I should have pointed at that review more openly, but some admins talked about "outing" at the time, and I kept it low-key. - Rich Main page today: the first TFA by a promising author, the pictured DYK by my friend LouisAlain who is discouraged by an AN discussion, and one of the Recent deaths. Enjoy, it's woman pictured! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:10, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

today: the day of bold red and black, for Dante who died 700 years ago, and Peter Fleischmann who died recently, leaving us films full of vision. Dante: just heard Inferno, imagined by a woman, the main character both speaking and singing with an inner 4-part voice! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:07, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

today: moar music, Beethoven, and my brother was in the orchestra, 10 July --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:34, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for improving articles in September, - a good harvest! On Peace Day, Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:06, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Thank you as well Gerda Arendt for all of your work on articles and support of other editors. I am slogging my way through Africa. Have done 26 of 54. By the end of the month, I may accomplish the halfway point. SusunW (talk) 12:51, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
All the best for that project, and I admire your consistency! My plans change daily. One focus is Recent deaths, which is unpredictable. I needed two days for Sylvano Bussotti, and the next one is waiting. Another of my series is: parks on days my friends have their birthdays, and today is one of those days, so expand a park where we spent many days together. But then I noticed a song that says "sometimes we celebrate in the middle of the day", and it speaks of peace, and I thought: great for peace day, and a birthday. And so I have 4 articles today, instead of the one I plan to do ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:58, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
I cannot imagine doing 4 articles in a day, or even 2, Gerda Arendt. That is amazing work. I will manage to finish Kenya today and start on Lesotho, but then most of tomorrow will just be gathering sources and reading to understand what went down there. I read 4 or 5 articles just to be able to write a sentence or two. But...I learn a lot. SusunW (talk) 13:10, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Well, of the four, three are/were already there, and the 4th - a little song for which a stub is enough - will probably be the easiest. Bussoti was hard because there were all these uncited facts, and the first refs I found were in French and Italian, languages I manage to read a menu in but that's it. This time, a translator program really helped, - for German, it often makes things worse, confusing pronouns ... The one waiting is Hungarian, same problem, but he will be last today - or come tomorrow. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:36, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Today: a woman in red (back to the beginning of the thread), two who died under "in memoriam" (one the Hungarian above) and LouisAlain missed - my first editnotice read: "Every editor is a human being" which is quoted from a comment by Geometry guy in a 2012 discussion on WP:AN. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:08, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Lovely article Gerda Arendt. I just finished Liberia, so I am I guess on the downhill slope of Africa, finally. I have read the discussion but will not comment, far too much drama and I have so much work to do. I am sorry for your friend's situation. SusunW (talk) 18:28, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, understand. You have a heart! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:43, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Elena Arizmendi Mejía

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Elena Arizmendi Mejía you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Andrew Davidson -- Andrew Davidson (talk) 14:00, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Wow, that was quick. Thanks Andrew Davidson. Just let me know what we need to do to improve it and get the article across the line. SusunW (talk) 14:02, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
The event page is on my watchlist and it's a wet afternoon here in London. The WiG event started yesterday so I'm surprised that this is the first entry. As I've not tried the GA process before, I may take some time to get the hang of the formalities and so thought I'd start with a review before entering an article of my own. I didn't know about this Legobot prompting, for example.
I've been reading through the article and so here's some quick feedback FYI.
  1. The lead seems to need some copy-editing. I get the impression that it was written after the body as it seems to rely on some understanding of who the various people and organisations are. For example, it says she established the "Mujeres de la Raza" without explaining what sort of a thing this was – a party, an organisation, a magazine or what. This lack of explanation makes the lead confusing if you're coming to the topic cold, as I am.
  2. The spelling mysogonistic looks odd to me. Is this misogynistic or is this an ENGVAR issue?
Anyway, I'll post a more thorough review after I've been through it. More anon.
Andrew🐉(talk) 14:55, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
All good feedback, Andrew Davidson and since I live in Mexico things I suppose people would know, but obviously not. ;) You are correct, the lede is typically the last thing I write, as it is impossible to summarize if you don't know what the topic is. Take your time, I am always busy, so no need to rush. Misspelling that 3 experienced editors missed *sigh*. That's why new eyes are needed ;) SusunW (talk) 15:03, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
I paused to allow time for some copy-editing and see that that's happening. But the spelling issue remains. The spelling misogonistic doen't seem very different and the OED doesn't recognise it. It should be misogynistic IMO but maybe I'm missing something. If you're in Mexico, is this a Spanish language influence? Andrew🐉(talk) 09:20, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
Sorry, done now. SusunW (talk) 15:04, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
By the way, Andrew Davidson, I have bookmarked the review page so if you just make comments there, I will pop over once a day and clear anything. No need for you to wait on me to reply here. SusunW (talk) 16:21, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Elena Arizmendi Mejía

The article Elena Arizmendi Mejía you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Elena Arizmendi Mejía for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Andrew Davidson -- Andrew Davidson (talk) 23:41, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

Barbara J. Bloemink

I am going through the links to list the necessary ones as references. I noticed you have started a few edits, I hope our edits do not conflict. Ampimd (talk) 17:13, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Ampimd, that's why I said on the WiR page to give me some time to work it over. I have an appointment in about 2.5 hours, so if you can give me until then, it's all yours. SusunW (talk) 17:15, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
I just noticed your response on the page, so I would be on stand-by. Cheers. Ampimd (talk) 17:17, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink (talk) SusanW thank you SO much for the excellent job you are doing correcting and finding great sources for my entry. You left out the major exhibition I co-curated at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1995 : the Florine Stettheimer Retrospective titled Florine Stettheimer: Manhattan Fantastica, that is the major exhibition that I am best "known" for and that began my reputation as a Stettheimer/feminist scholar so if you could add that it would be terrific. It was also the same year - 1995 - as the publication of the dissertation, The Life and Art of Florine Stettheimer by Yale University Press. In any event you are putting in some information I am not thrilled about which is very fair so thank you for making this an excellent and proper Wikipedia entry! Barbarabloemink (talk) 15:37, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink sorry, I had an appointment. The way the article is structured, the first section will give an overview of your career; then in the curated section, reviews of your curated exhibits (which is where the Whitney exhibition will be discussed); in the writing section, reviews of the written works, etc. As I said before, I do not typically work on living people, as I believe there are privacy issues that need to be respected and what might appear controversial in one age, may clearly not be over time, thus it is much harder to judge long-term impact on living people. "First do no harm"… kind of sums it up for me. We follow sources and try to keep neutrality, but if something has some of the details wrong, please let me know. That said, I'll keep working on it over the next few days and see where we get with it. SusunW (talk) 22:26, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink (talk) SusunW SusunW I am very very appreciative of your taking your time to work on this. Thank you so very much. Barbarabloemink (talk) 17:32, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink Not a problem. Today was complicated, as I always research sourcing first, which eats into writing time. Then, I knew I would have to be gone for most of the afternoon and I will be off for the evening in about 1/2 an hour. Tomorrow hopefully, I'll get more done. I would suggest you not edit it directly further, but if you note something that is problematic tell me here or on the article talk page. SusunW (talk) 22:43, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
I just came around, I noticed the format you are using in terms of the references and citations. Ampimd (talk) 23:46, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Since the citations and references must be consistent, I am using the style you started with. There are a few issues with some of the curated works. Kindly let me know if you also realise some errors. Thank you. Ampimd (talk) 00:56, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Ampimd I always do them that way as it is too hard to edit the text among the references, if they are all in the body. We'll need to read through all of the references given so it's going to take time. Obviously, if we can find an independent source, we will have fewer issues with other editors than if we use things written by her. It also kind of freaks me out to work in mainspace while we are still developing the article, but the fact that someone moved it is a nod that she is definitely notable. SusunW (talk) 13:42, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
SusunW, I felt the same way when I noticed its been moved into the mainspace, however seems to have brought some extra hands to help in some clean ups and copy edits and also reiterates her notability. I have tried working on the published works linking them to google books, since It would not be helpful to link them to amazon and the links. For the curatorial works also I tried going through so see ones which have been actually stated that she was the curator whilst searching for other independent sources. Ampimd (talk) 14:02, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Ampimd...great minds. Yes, all of that is good. We need reviews of her works and I've asked Innisfree, who usually has access to those things to try to find us some. We can always search in the Wikipedia Library journals, but I work slowly, source by source, and haven't even managed to finish the career overview part yet. So, we just cross each area as we come to it. SusunW (talk) 14:13, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank you both for your work, and slowly is fine. Yes, I think it should have stayed in draft longer, but life is full of surprises. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:52, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink (Barbarabloemink) If someone explains how I will upload an image of the four color printed Program of the Hudson Classical Theater Company's production of Love's Labour Lost that gives this July's dates, and list's my name playing the character of Boyet, the location, time, non-profit status and 19 years of productions of the company on their licensed site playing to a public of 200+ audiences members Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights every week on the permanent stage at the Sailor's and Soldier's Monuments at 90th Street in Riverside Park. The program also includes a photograph and acting biography of me including my training at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London as well as listing the three films and Tennessee Williams' Lady of Larkspur Zoom production I performed in. Would this publicly distributed and printed booklet serve as a proper source proving that I did indeed "act" in a major Shakespeare production this summer for which I auditioned against hundreds of other actors and was awarded the role? Please let me know how I can upload this program to provide it to you. I have spent seven years training and acting now and have achieved a bit given my age and how late I began this new role in my life as an older women so I would hate to have it totally discounted despite being listed on THE main industry website for film and tv: IMDb and having been chosen for a major Shakespearean production in New York City (hence my wanting to upload the program.) Both are a major accomplishment in terms of jumping into a second career and starting over at 60 for a women today! Please let me know how to provide the program to you as a source. :Barbarabloemink (Barbarabloemink) 8:15, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink I truly do understand why you want it there and can propose a work around. You cannot upload the program to WP, even though it was publicly distributed because of copyright issues. You can scan it and e-mail it to me (lxs181@aol.com) and I can input the information. If a review appeared in your local paper, etc., you can do the same if it is not on-line. The issue with IMDb is that anyone can input information, and no one has editorial/curatorial control to fact check it, etc. Especially on living people, the rules are strict to prevent persons from inputting unsubstantiated claims to either promote or vilify biographical subjects. SusunW (talk) 15:07, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink (Barbarabloemink) SusunW (talk) Thank you SusunW I can't send the program scan to you via email until this weekend but I will do so...unfortunately there was not a review that mentioned my name, only videos that show me in action in the role. In terms of the IMDb what about if I email a "trailer" for the film or email pieces of the various films that are specifically identified to correspond with the labeled director and production company to correspond with the listings on IMDb that actually show me performing? Would that work if you actually SEE me (as a disfunctional mother, a warhol-wigged fortune teller, etc.) performing on film in the various roles in the films? Barbarabloemink (Barbarabloemink) 10:47, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink I honestly don't think we can use trailers, but perhaps you ask the query on the talk page of your article, as film and acting are not my specialty and I truly don't know. Ideally, there would be reviews of your performances to establish that indeed they meet WP's criteria for inclusion. The issues for including the acting without that are detailed in WP:NOT, see self-promotion and marketing sections. While I understand the reasons you would like to include your hard work to change careers late in life, unless an independent source has "noted it", it may not meet our notability requirements. SusunW (talk) 16:12, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
Barbarabloemink One more note, if you can also e-mail me part of the catalog or pamphlet showing you tied to the Guerrilla Girls' exhibit, that would be helpful. SusunW (talk) 16:32, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

WiG Editathon Barnstar

Women in Green GA Editathon — October '21
Thank you for your excellent contributions to Elena Arizmendi Mejía, Unity Dow, and Miriam Soljak during our first Women in Green editathon event! Best, Alanna the Brave (talk) 15:39, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
Yay!! Great job, Susun! --ARoseWolf 15:44, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank you both. Loved writing about each of them. Such very different women with very different lives, but each of them impacted by discriminatory nationality laws. So much to learn, so little time, but we each keep writing and dragging history out of obscurity, one article at a time. SusunW (talk) 15:47, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Miriam Soljak

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading Miriam Soljak and learning about her remarkable life; thank you so much for your efforts on that article and for getting it to GA status/onto DYK. :) Cheers, Chocmilk03 (talk) 02:29, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

Chocmilk03 I truly enjoy writing women's stories and am convinced that I learn more by writing them than I ever impart. Glad to know that someone else enjoys them. Thank you so much for your kind note. SusunW (talk) 04:12, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Miriam Soljak

Life masks

Vesey O'Davoren, both living and dead

They are … definitely innovative. In a good way? AleatoryPonderings (???) (!!!) 04:10, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

AleatoryPonderings I think I wouldn't be likely to hang one in my home. Kinda macabre without being gruesome? But, art in any form is interpreted by both the artist and the viewer. The viewer's interpretation may be altogether different than the artist intended. In this case, I definitely see the death mask sources talk about. SusunW (talk) 15:07, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Perhaps a memento mori. If nothing else, I can see why the newspapers thought it was something new. AleatoryPonderings (???) (!!!) 15:22, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Apolo1991 as has already been told to you, while I am from the US originally, I live in Mexico. From your previous responses, that seems to preclude my participation. SusunW (talk) 17:36, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Just stopping by...

I need a warm cup of tea (lol). Hello Susun, I hope life is finding you well. I see you are continuing to sing your Song and I am overjoyed at the latest article you have written continue to display the history of the world's nationality laws in a way that allows current and future generations the opportunity to know and understand their impact upon Indigenous individuals, Women and the general populace at large. I am so grateful for your efforts. We are currently in the grips of the coldest weather this Winter so far. North winds are pushing snow into the valley and the drifts are building up. Add to that, the temperature is currently -27°f and you arrive at a real feel of about -62°f. Won't be spending much time outside for the next few days (lol). We expect it to drop down to around -70°f but really, once you hit about -50°f it's just deadly cold after that. Reminds me of the blizzard conditions I had to go through to get Ariana to clinic and eventually to hospital two years ago. Though the frostbite was quite mild it was still a very scary situation. Hopefully it's all sunshine and warm weather for you, my friend. --ARoseWolf 16:23, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Lovely to see you here. Yes, I am still trying to write them. Seems like slow going and my brain wonders if I'll ever finish Africa, but we persevere. I would not be able to type in those conditions and it's 71/22, which is below my comfort zone, but my signature fish sweater is doing it's job. I hope you stay warm, safe, and healthy. Drink tea, drink coffee, or my favorite, hot lemonade. SusunW (talk) 16:34, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
I love my hot mint tea with honey and lemon juice. I pay extra to get unfiltered honey and 100% lemon juice delivered to us. Hot lemonade sounds delish though. Your perseverance will pay dividends, Susun, I am confident in that much. Just keep on moving forward. We are sisters sharing a common bond and in that, my sister friend, we will support each other with our love, wisdom and understanding. You have all of mine through thought and time. --ARoseWolf 16:53, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
We get Melipona honey from Mayan beekeepers, it's dark, almost like molasses. Actual lemons are hard to come by, but we have many varieties of lime and some taste kind of like lemons. There is a fairly famous lime soup (sopa de lima) that is pretty yummy too. Thanks for your encouragement. It may not seem like it, but I do need it to stay focused. Somedays, the topic just seems overwhelming and I am convinced I will never finish. As you say, you are always in my thoughts. SusunW (talk) 17:04, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Yes, yes, and let that knowledge of our thoughts directed at each other fuel you and help focus your energies to accomplish the tasks ahead. Each moment is a start and a finish before continuing on to the next. Be renewed in your efforts. I am feeling warmer already from the glow of our conversation. Thank you --ARoseWolf 17:10, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Getting closer to the Winter Solstice. We'll be in pitch darkness a few days before and few days after but we're in basic darkness now. A little light on the horizon for an hour or so but mostly covered by the mountains and foothills to our South. You would need an extra sweater though as the temps right now are about -34°f. Hope it's much warmer for you where you are. It's hard running off generator what limited solar battery storage we have reserved. I only get a few hours here and there online. --ARoseWolf 18:21, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
It is glorious! 32/90 with sunny blue skies. Take care of you. May the sun return to you sooner rather than later. SusunW (talk) 18:24, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, and I'm so glad for you. You take care of you too. The world finds a way of coming full circle and days will return again. --ARoseWolf 18:29, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
As indicated I will be away for a while starting Friday. An adventure calls! Keep writing! I'm looking forward to working with you in the Spring on something. I'll be around a little tomorrow but if we don't talk before I leave I wanted to let you know that I appreciate you a lot, you know, just in case. Stay safe and take care of yourself, Susun. --ARoseWolf 19:56, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
ARoseWolf I shall await your return and think of you often Asareel. I love that adventure is on the horizon. I appreciate you as well and look forward to hearing about your time away. SusunW (talk) 20:08, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

December songs

Thank you for improving article quality in December. If you like Advent music, check this out. If you like Christmas music and wishes, watch my user talk until 27 December ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:22, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Wish I had been able to do more Gerda Arendt, but real life stuff has precluded that. On a good note, my mom seems to be improving, but still not out of the woods. I wish you and your family a lovely holiday season. Personally, music is the best part of this holiday, IMO. I appreciate your work and encouragement. SusunW (talk) 15:08, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, - we have no deadline, and personal care is always of higher value. Best wishes to you, your mother, and other loved ones! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:01, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Thank you Netherzone. Cheer is just what I needed. Been a wee bit stressful lately, but I thank you for your encouragement. May you and yours have a wonderful holiday season. SusunW (talk) 19:28, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
