2025 New York City Council election
The 2025 New York City Council elections will be held on November 4, 2025, with primary elections occurring on June 24, 2025.[ 1] Party nominees will be chosen using ranked-choice voting .

Eight council members (all Democrats) are prevented from seeking a third consecutive term due to term limits that were renewed by voters in a ballot referendum in 2010.[ 2]
