Obanai handing Mitsuri her green socks as a gift.
Obanai is deeply in love with Mitsuri, as he has stated in the manga. He feels as if he can't tell her though, because of his "filthy blood": the belief that he is a tainted individual unworthy of love caused by the trauma he had endured in his early past life.[1] He first saw her when she stood under a sakura tree, which is where he fell in love with her. To show his affection, he gets her gifts, such as food, or even the green socks that she wears with her standard uniform. Even though she is the Love Hashira, she is unaware of his infatuation, causing his love to be unrequited. They also frequently exchange letters with each other.
He is very observant of Mitsuri, as he is immediately able to tell when Mitsuri is feeling down, as well as what food and how much food she normally eats.[2]
During the Infinity Castle Arc, she and Obanai fought Upper Rank 4, Nakime, showing impressive teamwork, even though they could not beat her before Muzan Kibutsuji killed her himself.
When fighting against Muzan with the other Hashira and Demon Slayers, Mitsuri becomes heavily injured in result of enduring many attacks. Obanai instantly rushes to her side, taking her away from the battle to get help. As he leaves her with the other Demon Slayers to go back to the battle, she is seen screaming his name, desperately begging him to come back alive.[1]

Obanai tells Mitsuri that he would not let anyone say anything bad about her.
After the battle with Muzan, Obanai is seen cradling Mitsuri's body, both of them aware that they were dying. The two reminisce about the first time they met at Ubayashiki's mansion, and he admits Mitsuri saved him by making him feel normal. When she worries that she was useless in the end, he says he won't let anyone say anything bad about her. Mitsuri confesses that she loves him, that she always enjoyed sharing meals with him, and that he always looked at her so gently. Mitsuri asks him to take her as his wife, if they are reborn as humans, and he agrees, promising to make her happy and protect her. This vow eventually happens as their reincarnations marry each other.
Tanjiro Kamado[]

Mitsuri saves Tanjiro from Zohakuten.
During their first meeting, Mitsuri thinks to herself about how Tanjiro continues to protect his sister, despite how Nezuko was turned into a Demon, calling it beautiful sibling love. In the beginning of the Swordsmith Village Arc, Mitsuri is seen running down the hill from the hot springs, complaining about a boy who was mean and who ignored her when she asked for his name. Tanjiro comforts her by telling her that supper will be ready soon, and she stops crying and rushes down towards the village.
Nezuko Kamado[]

Mitsuri tearfully embraces Nezuko.
Mitsuri likes Nezuko, as she is seen playing with her during the Swordsmith Village Arc. Nezuko, in turn, is quite fond of Mitsuri and enjoys spending time with her. She even conveys to her brother that she wanted to have her hair braided in a similar fashion to Mitsuri's, displaying her affection and respect for the Love Hashira.
Upon realization that Nezuko has developed the ability to stand in the sun, Mitsuri expresses shock and relief. She instantly engulfs her in a hug, thankful that she is alive.
Kyojuro Rengoku[]
Kyojuro was Mitsuri's mentor as she derived her own unique Breathing Style, the Love Breathing from his Flame Breathing. She has extreme gratitude for Kyojuro as well, going so far as to consider him an older brother. She was completely devestated upon hearing of his death.
Senjuro Rengoku[]
Due to training under his older brother, it was shown that Mitsuri was decently close with Senjuro as well. For his own part Senjuro seemed fond of her, making her sweets, and hugging both her and Kyojuro upon their return from defeating a member of the Twelve Kizuki.
Shinobu Kocho[]
Shinobu and Mitsuri get along well as they are the only two female Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps after Kanae Kocho's death. Mitsuri looks up to Shinobu and trusts her enough to tell her about her worries.[2]
