This article is about an ally in Kamen Rider Zero-One. |
Jun Fukuzoe (福添 准, Fukuzoe Jun) is the Vice President of Hiden Intelligence.
History[]
Jun Fukuzoe is the vice president of Hiden Intelligence and a close confidant to the late Korenosuke Hiden. While he is an excellent person, he always seems to find himself in second place. After the death of the former president, he believes he will succeed as the next president, but is shocked to find the new president is Aruto Hiden. Since then, he sees Aruto as an obstacle in his path. While he secretly wishes that the new president will fail at his responsibilities, he does take pride in the company's days of success.
Fukuzoe would often keep Aruto in the dark when he tried to understand the truth regarding the Daybreak Town Accident, claiming that it is necessary to protect Hiden Intelligence's reputation. When the medical Humagears were hacked by MetsubouJinrai.net, he attempted to shut down the non-infected Humagears to prevent an outbreak, despite the risk of the patient's life due to the hospitals being short on human medical staff, believing it was necessary to keep the company's reputation after the media's negative opinions towards Humagears.
Believing Aruto is incapable of being the company's president, Fukuzoe tried to hold a meeting with the other board members to decide should he be fit to remain as president of the company. During the meeting, he tried to vote Aruto out of office, only to notice that none of the board members have raised their hands in agreement. As the members remarked how Aruto himself took down a terrorist organization, they decided Aruto should remain as the company president. Fukuzoe would be forced to admit Aruto's accomplishments and willingly agree to the decision.
However, when new Magias without Zetsumerisers started to resurface despite MetsubouJinrai.net's defeat, Fukuzoe was present when he witnessed Gai Amatsu from ZAIA Enterprise Japan announcing his intentions to buy out Hiden Intelligence in a takeover bid. Although Aruto managed to participate in a five-part Workplace Competition to determine whether Hiden Intelligence's Humagears can succeed, Gai's underhanded tactics caused ZAIA Enterprise Japan to emerge victorious and enacted his takeover bid and forced Aruto to resign from his role as CEO of Hiden Intelligence. Although Fukuzoe revealed to Aruto that he wasn't asked to resign, that latter responded that he is leaving voluntarily.
After Hiden Intelligence is completely bought out as a subsidiary by ZAIA Japan, Fukuzoe remained with Hiden Intelligence under Gai Amatsu's tenure as president. Although he tried to get into Gai's good graces, Fukuzoe still was against what he was doing to the company as the new president was tarnishing the reputation that Korenosuke and Aruto had built. While he could've quit the company, he decided to remain in Hiden Intelligence to get insider information regarding Gai Amatsu's goals and managed to find over a thousand criminal actions he committed.
Although they started off on the wrong foot, Fukuzoe did eventually grew fond of Aruto Hiden and respected him creating a new company to restore the Humagears. After Gai Amatsu stepped down from his duties as Hiden Intelligence CEO, Fukuzoe thought he would finally take on the position, only to find out that Aruto had been chosen to resume becoming the company president.
After the threat of the Ark was seemingly over, Aruto was transformed into the new incarnation of the Ark due to the grief of losing Izu. This began brewing a war between humanity and Humagears, with Fukuzoe struggling on how to deal with the situation. After having a private conversation with the miniature A.I., Ai-chan, Fukuzoe acknowledge that he will do his best as "Number Two of the World". When the Humagears began protesting at Hiden Intelligence, he tries to assure the crowd to believe in Aruto Hiden. After Aruto overcame his grief and managed to find peace with humans and Humagears, Fukuzoe would remain on his side as the Vice-President of the Hiden Intelligence.
Personality[]
Due to his massive inferiority complex, he sees Aruto as nothing but an incompetent CEO and wishes that the latter would fail. Despite so, he does indeed take great pride in the company's success and lets Aruto do his job should it benefit him and Hiden Intelligence in general, and will go through any lengths to do so, such as participating in a TV drama production to restore Hiden Intelligence's good name. His dedication to restoring Hiden's name is a big double-edged sword for him, as he authorized the shut-down of Humagears from a recently attacked hospital courtesy of MetsubouJinrai.net, despite well-knowing that doing so will put countless lives at risk. This shows that Jun does not care about the well-being of others in the slightest, but only about restoring Hiden's tarnished name. This also means that he will do anything to do so - even if said actions are less than morally right.
It was also revealed that Jun is fully aware that Hiden Intelligence was one of the many companies who created Humagears, but he is persistently covering up anything relating to the Daybreak Town Accident in order to maintain Hiden Intelligence's good name in the public, especially from Aruto.
However, Jun is a reasonable man, overall. He knows to give recognition to others when it is due, such as with Aruto when the entire board of directors of Hiden Intelligence praised the young President for his actions as Zero-One. Deep down, it is shown that Jun actually cares for Aruto more than he actually lets on. When Aruto had to quit his position, Jun showed concern to him despite still having to be in the company. He would show such concern again when Aruto was defeated by Ark-Zero, and was rendered terrified of what artificial intelligence was capable of if it operated beyond human capacity, reminding the young man of what he was fighting for.
Even despite Jun's questionable actions during Aruto's tenure as President, he is also a man that knows where the line should be drawn in regard to corporate decisions. Upon realizing that Gai planned to use people who had bought the ZAIA Spec and was intending to make them go berserk in order to sell Raidrisers to the public, Jun decided that enough was enough; he went to Aruto for help to reactivate Shesta in order to dig up any and all complaints made against Gai, so they can be used to initiate a hostile takeover to forcibly remove him as Hiden Intelligence's president.
