Southern Girls Get Stuck!

Just realised that my title sounds like a newspaper headline where they hint at something that actually turns out to have little or nothing to do with the actual story!
You'll have to judge for yourself.

There's a new theme for the Southern Girls,
For this one, team Lou would like to see you use
"Sticky things" on your projects. I chose to use a selection of Washi tape on mine, along with a few sequins.

I chose to use a selection of Washi tape on mine, along with a few sequins, I added some stitching along the thin tapes using my pattern tool, it's hard to see but it adds a little something when you see it up close! The image I used this time is  "So happy" by Ppinky dolls, one of the sponsors this time, she's a little cutie!

Not that the little one looks "So Happy" I have to say though that the idea of being on a swing makes me feel happy, I hope it's making her smile on the inside! I printed the image then added a branch to hang the swing from, I meant to add some doodles knots but forgot I'm afraid, I'm getting forgetful in my old age.

Please check out the challenge blog for full details of all the sponsors this time.

I'm using this card in the following challenges:-
QKR248 Anything goes, faux stitching/quilting,
CTD447, Color throwdown,
CSD, Summer.

About A Boy.

It's time for a new challenge with the
"Southern Girls"
the theme this time is
For my card I used the lovely digi image
by Sasayaki glitter who are one of the sponsors this time. Please check out the challenge blog for full details of the sponsors this time and the challenge rules.

This image is so cute, I really felt that he suited a CAS layout. I just coloured him using copics adding depth to the shading with Polychromos. I then just set the image within a frame adding a strip of washi tape, some die cut stars and a greeting.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CCT474, Birthday,
TCA35, CAS,
CSD, Men/boy,

Sticky Business

Today sees the new theme at
 and this time "Team Lou"
want to see creations using stickers or Washi tape.

Now, I rather love Washi tape, I've got drawers of the stuff, the fact that nowadays you can pick it up in Sainsburys and Marks and Spencers means that a little treat can sometimes just find it's way into my basket along with non craft shopping.

By laying strips of scrummy goodness onto copier paper I was able to punch out flowers, thus giving a perfect match to the tape on my card.

So thanks to Lou's challenge theme I have made a little space in my drawer for my next washi buy.

It's Written In The Stars,30!

I am really embarrassed to say that the recipient of this card had to collect it from the post office today.
I am slightly miffed as he had to pay the postage for it despite the fact that I put a large second class stamp on it. I posted it last Monday in plenty of time for the birthday on Thursday. I can't believe that it took over a week for the Post Office to bother contacting him, I am disgusted!

I used a stencil for the stars on my frame created on the ScanNcut. It doesn't show but I layered two different Washi tapes directly on top of one another, the different shades of green blended through the translucent tape achieving a pretty good colour match to the background paper.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Crafter's Cafe 118, For the boys,
Double Click, Father's Day or male,
Male Room 11, Washi tape,
Mod Squad, Masculine,
MMM, Kraft.

Happy Washi Tape

I forgot to share this card the other day, please excuse the slightly off focus, I took it on my phone just before I popped it in the post never checking the quality of the pic.
I know I've shared similar before but it just has to be said that the ScanNcut does make it easy when you're strapped for time and you need a card for a male. I saved this merged cut a month or so ago, all I needed to do was work out the size I needed and cut it as one and then cut each letter individually, simple when you can just scan in all of the paper remnants on one cutting mat and move each letter into place. The strips across the card are three different washi tapes. The one with the diagonal stripes I customised by picking up the print from an old book, such a simple technique you just lay the washi onto the page, rub the tape firmly then lift it up bringing the print with it, I've never done this before but it's something I will definitely do again.
Of course it's no longer sticky but that's easily rectified with a tape runner.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

DCD, Words,
W2SB14, Something different,
YSP, Anything goes/male card,
CCC265, Birthdays,
CFTC, Birthday,
STB, Anything goes,

Another bit of practice with the Polychromos, some washi tape and my trademark tiny tag (lol), this one is rather smaller than I'd meant it to be but as I was crafting away from home at the time I had to go with what I'd got and that was the one from the sheet that I'd printed out in the wrong size, oops!
