I'm a terrible person, doc. I'm mean to everybody, and I'm especially mean to those who love me the most. I've got issues! But I'm not crazy or anything!
~ Ren to Mr. Horse, who he believes is a psychologist.

Ren Höek is one of the two main protagonists in the Ren & Stimpy Adult Party series.

He was voiced by series creator John Kricfalusi, also known as John K.

His Evil Ranking[]

Debated Validations[]

  • Although he hears Stimpy about taking care of his "son" Little Ricky in "Stimpy's Pregnant", he says that he accepted this because he hoped that his son would be as much of an asshole as he was and to be able to abuse him, however, he seemed genuinely happy when he was "born", making it debated.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

In general:[]
  • Overall, he has had his worst traits from the original heightened, with him generally being cruel, selfish, and sociopathic.
  • Despite being somewhat careful with him, he is still extremely abusive towards Stimpy, even more so than in the original, often inflicting brutal injuries on him.
  • Although he suffers many comedy injuries, he deserves it for everything he has done.
  • Unlike his original version who has numerous redeeming and sympathetic qualities, this version lacks most of them.
In the series:[]
  • In Onward & Upward, he whips two sentient potatoes to give themselves up to be eaten by both him and Stimpy.
  • In Ren Seeks Help, despite being only the second episode of the cartoon, it has his most infamous, heinous acts and MEH crossover:
    • He said something horrible to Stimpy, which made him cry and resent Ren. Even Ren himself is guilt-stricken by it and feels it was beyond the pale.
    • After seeking "help" from Mister Horse, after what he told Stimpy, he reveals to him about his childhood, in which he tortured and killed small animals for his own sadistic amusement, such as burning and killing dozens of ants, ripping the legs off a caterpillar and putting a beetle on a stick and licking it with his stinger tongue.
    • Although he argues that his depraved nature stemmed from the trauma of the painful slap the doctor gave him when he was born, which motivated him to bring suffering to others, this is too petty to excuse his actions and he goes too far in this, in addiction that he is motivated primarily by sadism.
    • He then found a frog, which he proceeded to brutally torture over the years, such as electrocuting and burning him and sticking firecrackers up his anus. Even when his parents told him to put the frog out of his misery, he continued to torture him, saying he refused to kill it because he wanted it to suffer more.
    • Despite having told him all the horrible things he did, he fondly remembers his past and asks Mr. Horse what is wrong with him, despite the obvious.
    • After Mr. Horse became enraged when he revealed what he had said his past and beat him, Ren brutally killed him by scratching him and violently hitting him in the face with his gun.
    • After some guys from the asylum show up to get him, he rips off one guy's hand and eats it, and when the other captures him, he writhes animalistically.
    • Although he went crazy at the end by acting in an animalistic and uncontrolled manner, it is unclear whether he had impaired moral agency, and even if he did, this would not be a prevention, as he has shown to have moral agency in the other episodes and is still willing to commit actions immoral.
  • In Fire Dogs 2, when Ralph talks about them participating in solving the next fire together, in which both he and Stimpy could choose who lives or dies, Ren becomes maniacally excited at the idea of someone dying, and even though Stimpy tempts him convince about letting people live, he doesn't care about that and is still interested in letting people die.
  • In Naked Beach Frenzy, he sexually harasses many women on the beach, to the point of even rubbing himself against their breasts.
    • Although he offers to help many women on the beach with their tasks, this is just so he has the opportunity to harass them, such as helping to clean two of them in the bathroom.
  • In Altruists, He steals the belongings of a wealthy family, beats and faints the family's angry duck, and steals the last trees of his extinct species from. He also ran over a turtle and killed it.
  • In Stimpy's Pregnant, when Stimpy was “pregnant”, Ren made Stimpy do all the housework while he brags to his mother on the phone. And while taking Simpy to the hospital, he and a pig cop shot up traffic for "new life", and he even shoot it in a wolf's car, which made him fall off the bridge.
  • Although he was disgusted by Stimpy showing off his belly and "breasts", stating that millions of people are watching and that it was a "family network", this is clearly hypocritical given that he did indecent things in a "family network"network".

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Despite all that he did, given to the nature of the series, his actions are played for black comedy and aren’t taken seriously, in addition to being very comical for NPE for having many moments of slapstick comedy, and being mostly played for laughs.
  • He has some care for Stimpy, despite treating him badly. And it is shown that he was sorry for saying something bad to him in the episode "Ren Seeks Help", having good time with him in their temporally new "home" in "Onward & Upward", and they are show happy together affectionately at the "birth" of Little Ricky.
    • Although it was partly because he would reward them, and he sometimes shows disgust at his disgustingness, it is shown that he cares for Ralph Bakshi and considers him a friend, and he begins to cry when Ralph tells about him dying of old age.
  • In the episode "Altruists", he shows certain redeeming and sympathetic qualities, and his most humanizing episode in the series:
    • He have a Pet the Dog moment, in which he feels sorry for the hardships of a homeless widow and her headless son, with him, along with Stimpy, with his acts of robbing the rich family and the trees have been motivated to give them money and house, and they are happy when they are able to help her, and is also not shown doing it for selfish reasons, which also makes him a extremist well-intentioned and On & Off, to the point that even the policeman forgives them of his crimes after the widow explains to him about her situation and their reasons. This too is portrayed in a heroic light.
    • He and Stimpy voluntarily turn themselves in to the policeman when he was going to take them for their crimes, which is portrayed for sympathy and shows that he's honorable.
    • He was also shocked to hear the policeman's story that his wife was hit by a bus, showing that he has standards.
  • Although deserved, he has a moment of insecurity and emotional vulnerability in "Ren Seeks Help", where he is shocked when Mister Horse calls him crazy after Ren tells him his dark, personal secrets, which causes him to be quite distressed.

Trivia[]

  • He is so far the only character in the Ren & Stimpy franchise who is inconsistently heinous, and the only version of Ren to be IH.
    • He is also so far the only John Kricfalusi character to be inconsistently heinous.
  • In the unfinished episode "Life Sucks", Ren is trying to convince Stimpy that life is horrible and useless, and has him show insects being devoured and telling him the story of the Children of the Crusades who were brutally killed or enslaved, traumatizing Stimpy and tormenting him, without caring about his pain. If this episode had been released, it would have made Ren even worse.
