Ultraman Jack, also known as Shinman is a major protagonist in the Ultra franchise, serving as the titular main protagonist of the 1971 Tokosatsu series The Return Of Ultraman. He is a member of the Space Garrison and is overall the fourth Ultra brother to visit Earth following Ultraman, Zoffy, and Ultraseven.

The Return Of Ultraman[]
- During Takkong’s first attack in Tokyo, he managed to scare him off, stoping his rampage in the process.
- Upon witnessing a man named Hideki Goh sacrifice himself in order to save a boy and his pet dog, he revived him out of respect by merging himself with him, giving Goh the ability to transform into him and defend Earth from giant monsters and alien invaders.
- in episode 1, after having just gotten done reviving Goh, he alerted him to Earthron’s presance at a village and later defeated the monster afterwards. Following this, him and Goh made an agreement to work together in order to defend the happiness and freedom of mankind,
- In episode 2, he defeated Takkong.
- In episode 3, he defeated Sadora and Detton, allowing Goh to help Captain Katsuhiro Kato get back to MAT afterwards.
- In episode 4, he defeated Kingsaurus 3.
- In episode 6, with the help of MAT, he managed to defeat Gudon and Twin Tail.
- In episode 8, he brought Ghostron into space, preventing him from blowing up everyone in his vicinity after a bomb got stuck to his tail when Goh attempted to shoot at its mouth earlier.
- In episode 9, he defeated Dangar and helped Minami get his cure for his infection.
- In episode 10, rather than killing it, he instead turned Steagon into a constellation after Jiro and his classmates begged him not too due to the fact that the monster was only acting in self defense and was usually docile.

- In episode 12, he defeated Shugaron.
- In episode 13, he repelled a 100ft tall Tsunami that was being caused by Seagorath using the Ultra barrier, preventing it from destroying Japan.
- in episode 14, after MAT blew off Seagorath’s horn which prevented him and his mate Seamons from effectively using their weather powers, he spared them due to the fact that they were no longer a threat and were simply acting out instinct.
- In episode 15, he defeated Eledortus.
- In episode 17, he defeated Terrochilus, preventing him from covering Tokyo in his cob webs.
- In episode 18, he saved Captain Kato from crashing his plane after he was hit by Bemstar and eventually defeated Bemstar afterwards.
- In episode 19, he defeated Sartan, helping Goh fulfill his promise he made to Jiro to avenge his late pet rabbit.
- In episode 20, he defeated Magnedon, preventing him from indirectly causing more damage to earth with his magnetic powers. However, even though he had to kill Magnedon, he felt remorse for it due to the fact that he wasn’t truly evil. So out of respect, he used pieces of his body to create a constellation of him.
- In episode 21, he defeated Beacon, preventing him from disrupting electric signals and destroying more planes.
- In episode 22, with the help of Captain Ryu Ibuki, he defeated Gokinuzela.
- In episode 23, after realizing that Zanika was simply in pain and agony after Vacuumon devoured his homeworld, he spared him, and later managed to destroy Vacuumon itself from the inside using the Ultra bracelet, preventing it from devouring Earth and more constellations as well.
- In episode 24, he defeated Kingston.
- In episode 25, he prevented Zagoras from leaving the Aino village, allowing the asteroid they were on start flying without Zagoras causing more damage somewhere else. Additionally, he also saved Minami and Rukusukei from falling off the asteroid by using his ultra bracelet to create a travel sphere for them.
- In episode 26, he defeated Nokogiran.
- In episode 27, he defeated Gronken.
- In episode 28, he defeated Varricane.
- In episode 30, he saved Captain Ryu and Ibuki from getting killed by Oxter and later defeated Oxter afterwards. However, even though he ultimately killed him, he felt remorse due to the fact that Oxter was simply attacking because the buffalo graveyard was disturbed. So out of respect, he continued Oxter’s job by causing a rainstorm and mudslide in order to refill the lake and to bury his body alongside the other buffalo bones.
- In episode 31, he defeated Alien Zelan’s monster Plooma.
- In episode 32, he managed to get a boy named Taro out of a cave him and Goh were trapped in and later defeated King Miami.
- In episode 33, he defeated Muruchi and although he killed him, he felt remorse remorse and even had a moment of silence for him due to the fact that his rampage was motivated by the death of his alien master who was killed by humans out of Xenophobia.
- In episode 34, he defeated Leogon and at one point freed the plane Minami, Ueno, and Kishida when there plane was caught by Leogon’s vines.
- In episode 35, he defeated Prisma, preventing it from continuing to absorb the matter of more objects.
- In episode 36, he defeated Draculas, preventing him from drinking the blood of all women on Earth.
- During the beginning of episode 37, he defeated the resurrected Seagorath and Bemstar, and even managed to repel another Tsunami caused by the former using the Ultra barrier again. Later on in the episode, during his fight with Black King, he swore to avenge the Sakata siblings after Alien Knackle brutally murdered them.
- In episode 38, he managed to defeat Alien Knackle and Black King, thus fulfilling his promise to avenge the sakatas.
- In episode 40, he defeated Alien Black and his monster Snowgon, thus foiling the former’s plan to make the couples on Earth his slaves.
- In episode 41, he defeated Alien Baltan Jr and his robot monster Billgamo Additionally, during his battle against Billgamo, he managed to hold him still long enough for Jiro, Susumu,and the rest of MAT to get out of it after they were temporarily trapped inside the robot by Jr.
- In episode 42, he stopped a bunch of missiles fired by Kishida in his plane and later defeated Paragon (who was causing Kishida to fire aimlessness with his illusion based abilities) as well as his master Alien Stora.
- In episode 43, he defeated Alien Grotes which helped revert Kodaigon back into a normal statue.
- During the beginning of episode 45, he managed to defeat Alien Messie’s monster Robanezu Later on in the episode, he managed to defeat Alien Messie himself while also freeing Alien Cygnus 61 Erika from his control.
- In episode 46, he defeated Alien Zoole’s monster Red Killer.
- In episode 47, he defeated Femigon while also freeing Oka from his possession.
- In episode 48, despite dealing with Yamteranese’s laziness effects, he managed to resist them and shrink him him back to his small form before throwing him back to space, curing everyone he unintentionally infected in the process. Afterwards, he then defeated Sasahiller who was previously using Yamteranese to make everyone on earth lazy so he could conquer Earth. Additionally, during his fight with Yameteranese, he saved Jiro from getting crushed by an electrical tower that Yameteranese had accidentally knocked down.
- In episode 49, he freed MAT from the evil Alien Mysteler brother’s control and later managed to defeat him with their help.
- In episode 50, he defeated King Bockle.
- During the beginning of episode 51, him and Goh initially refused to fight the revived Zetton due to his infamous reputation among the Ultras at the time of having defeated and killed Ultraman (albeit temporarily). However, he managed to overcome his fear by the end of the episode and ultimately defeat him alongside his master Alien Bat. Because of this, not only did he prevent Alien Bat from taking over the world and killing Ultraman, Seven, and Zoffy, he also avenged Ultraman’s defeat/temporary death while also proving that an Ultra defeating Zetton was possible.
Ultraman Ace[]
- In episode 1, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, Seven helped Ace revive Seiji Hokuto and Yuko Minami, allowing them to be Ace’s hosts in order fight back against Yapool’s terrible monsters.
- In episode 6, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, and Seven helped Ace gain enough confidence to fight back and overpower Brocken, leading to the terrible monster’s defeat.
- In episode 13, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, Seven, and Ace investigated the Planet Golgotha when they seemingly signaled each other. However, even after it was revealed to be a trap set up by Yapool to kill them, him and his brothers (especially Ultraman) encouraged Ace to not worry about them and to instead focus on defeating Barabas who was attacking Earth.
- In episode 14, while being tied to crosses, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, and Seven gave up some of their color timers energy to Ace, allowing him to defeat Ace killer and later return to Earth and have a rematch with Barabas, whom he eventually defeated as well.
- In episode 26, after Ace signaled for the Ultra brothers help while he was being turned to bronze by Alien Hipporito, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, and Seven went to Earth in order to save him. Later on in the episode, while Seven was fighting Alien Hipporito, he attempted to free Ultraman and Zoffy.
- In episode 27, upon being unbronzed following Alien Hipporito’s defeat at the hands of Ace, him and the other brothers brought Father of Ultra back to the land of light to revive him after he sacrificed himself in order to replenish Ace’s energy.
Ultraman Taro[]
- In episode 1, him and the other Ultra brothers joined Mother of Ultra in reviving Kotaro after he died in an act of self sacrifice, leading to him becoming the human host for Taro.
- In episode 25, him and the other Ultra brothers helped Taro ring the Ultra bell, clearing out the dark smoke clouds all over Earth caused by Mururoa, while also allowing Taro to have a rematch with the monster and eventually defeat him.
- In episode 33, while he did ultimately go through with Zoffy’s plan to take possession of the unconscious ZAT members to secretly teach Taro/Kotaro not to rely on them in order to avoid causing a war zone, him and Ace still felt bad for him and even tried to help him several times, much to Zoffy, Ultraman, and Seven’s annoyance.
- In episode 34, him and the other Ultra brothers managed to defeat Alien Temperor for good.
- In episode 40, he attempted to defeat Tyrant, even though he ultimately failed alongside the other brothers (excluding Taro).
- In episode 52, he sacrificed his color timer to Dorobon in exchange for Kazumi Nitani’s life.
Ultraman Leo[]
- In episode 34, he traveled from the land of light all the way to Earth and gave Ultraseven/Dan Moroboshi the monster Scavenger. Following that, he helped Leo defeat Asturan and later brought Seven/Dan’s Ultra eye back to M78 in order to fix it after they were damaged by the Gillas brothers.
- In episode 38, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, and Ace traveled back to Earth to get the Ultra key back from “Astra”/Alien Babarue stole it in order to prevent M78 from crashing into Earth. Later on, once he and the others did get to Earth, they fought against Leo who had assumed the Ultra brothers were attacking his “brother” for no reason. During this, he, Ace, Ultraman, and Zoffy fired their beams at Leo, which nearly killed him in the process. However, prior to firing, he gave Leo a warning to get out of the way. Furthermore, he felt remorse for it upon realizing Leo genuinely thought it was Astra.
- In episode 39, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, Ace, and King went back to M78 in order to try and stop it from colliding into the earth the best they could.
Ultraman Mebius & The Ultra Brothers[]
- During the beginning of the film, in 1986, he, Ultraman, Seven, and Ace sealed Yapool into the Kobe damn by sacrificing nearly all of their energy. And despite the fact that he had the live the next 20 years of his life as Hideki Goh because of it, he gracefully accepted it, knowing that humanity would still be able to defend themselves even without the Ultra brothers.
- In 2006, during his conversation with Mirai/Mebius, him and the others warned him not to get too overconfident and to be careful of the Alien Union, bringing up past examples of enemies who targeted their heart.
- When Mebius got crucified by Alien Guts and Alien Knackle, him and Ace transformed into their normal forms, despite the fact that they were in no condition to fight and could have died. In the process, they managed to free Mebius from his crucifix. Additionally, just before transforming, he encouraged Mebius to always believe he will win, no mater how slight victory might seem.
- Despite the fact that Alien Knackle was working with Yapool, him and the other Ultra brothers expressed shock when Yapool killed him as U-Killersaurus mere moments after he was revived and later expressed disgust alongside them upon coming to the revelation that Yapool was only using the other alien invaders for his own revival.
- In the final battle, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, Seven, Ace, and Taro merged with Mebius, helping him defeat Yapool/U-Killersaurus.
Ultraman Mebius[]
- In episode 43, when Mirai/Mebius was feeling depressed due the humans thinking he seemingly “betrayed” them for wanting to prevent Deathram from hurting GUYS, he reassured him he was doing fine, bringing up the need to understand the good and bad parts of humanity. Additionally, he also goes on to say that the reason the Ultras protect Earth is because they believe it’s worth fighting for and that it’s future is in the hands of not him (Mirai) but also humanity as well. Following this, he later helped Mebius Deathrem and even saved GUYS from getting blasted by Deathrem’s fire balls.
- In episode 50, during Mebius’s final battle against Alien Empera, him and the other Ultra brothers used their beam attacks in order to unblock the sun after it was covered in Darkness by Empera.
Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie[]
- After Belial escaped from his prison, Ultraman Jack, Ace, and 80 attempted to stop him from retrieving the Plasma Spark.
Ultraman Saga[]
- During the climax of the film, just before the battle against Hyper Zetton, he, Ultraman, Seven, Ace, and Leo traveled to a another universe and managed to defeat Alien Bat’s monsters, Antlar, King Pandon, Black King, Velokron, and Tyrant.
Ultraman Ginga[]
- Prior to the events of the series, him and the other Ultra warriors participated and fought in the Dark Spark War against Dark Luguiel.
Ultraman Ginga S[]
- In this series, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, Seven, and Ace gave some of their power to Taro, allowing himself to change into the Strium Brace so that Ultraman Ginga/Hikaru Raido could assume his Ginga Strium form.
Ultra Fight Orb[]
- In episodes 4, he was the first Ultra to assist Zero in his battle against Birdon, Gudon, Twin Tail, and King Joe; with Seven and Zoffy joining in immediately afterwards.
- In episode 5, he, Zoffy, and Seven managed to defeat the revived monsters, with Jack in particularly defeating Gudon and Twin Tail, two of his most recurring foes.
- In episode 6, while Seven and Zero trained Orb, him and Zoffy chased after Reibatos in order to stop him from reviving more monsters with the Giga battleneizer.
Ultraman Geed[]
- During the beginning of the series, he attempted to fight back against Belial and his army alongside the other Ultra warriors of m78.
Ultraman Taiga[]
- At some point, prior to the events of the series, he defeated an Alien Knackle named Odysa alongside his monster Black King. However, as result of this defeat, Odysa decided to give up on being a warrior and chose to instead live peacefully on Earth as a human.
Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy[]
- In episode 6, he and the other 4 Ultra brothers merged with Taro, allowing him successfully defeat Juda Spectre and Mold.
Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad[]
- In episode 9, he, Zoffy, Ultraman, Seven, Ace, and Taro fused together with Mebius, allowing him to defeat a bunch of Absolutians and close a portal of theirs while also preventing them from sending in more reinforcements.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He can be genuinely lethal at times. For instance, in episode 25, he killed Zagoras by throwing him into the asteroid he was riding on to go back his home, even though by that point, he wasn’t causing any more damage or hurting anyone, making his death unnecessary and unjustified even if Jack possibly perceived him as dangerous.
