“ | You got betrayed by someone you trust. Because once everyone sees you as a villain, that’s what you are. The worlds kicks you around sometimes. But together we can kick it back. | „ |
~ Nimona encouraging Ballister. |
Nimona is the titular deuteragonist of Netflix's full-length animated feature film of the same name, based on the titular novel
She is a young shape-shifting teenager, who wished to expose and destroy the corruption of the Institution by adventuring with falsely-accused Ballister Boldheart to prove his innocence through several means. Her tragedy between the friendship of her and Gloreth had kept her isolated from society as a "villain", upon being discovered shape-shifting by Gloreth's village, and she would later meet Boldheart in the film.
She is voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable?[]
- When she was friends with Gloreth in the past, Nimona helped her get an apple that she was trying to get from a tree.
- She breaks Ballister out of prison when he was arrested for being wrongfully accused of killing Queen Valerin.
- She brought Ballister back to his lair after he was knocked unconscious during her destruction of the Institute's castle.
- She made tacos for Ballister.
- She helped Ballister get onto the subway by distracting the knights guarding it.
- She got Ballister out of the subway when the knights that were after them tried to have them captured.
- She and Ballister tried to tell Ambrosius that the Director killed the queen and tried to convince him to do the right thing when he started to get manipulated by the Director.
- She rescued Ballister when he was getting beaten up by Todd and a group of guards.
- She saved a child from getting hit by a car and shapeshifted into a little girl to reassure her that she was safe.
- She decided to stay in the kingdom to expose The Director because she wanted to end the way people saw those who are different as being "monsters".
- She faked being Ambrosius so The Director could talk to her in private. There, she tricked The Director into admitting her crimes, which allowed Ballister to film it and prove The Director's crimes to the public.
- She stopped The Director from firing the cannons at the city, saving countless people as a result. She also destroyed part of the kingdom's wall, which allowed people to finally see the world outside of the kingdom.
- Her actions lead to the kingdom to stop hating those who are different and made herself and Ballister be seen as heroes. She also made Todd change his ways and turned into a better person.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She is too mischievous, sadistic, and reckless to her friend Ballister and everyone around her to be Pure Good or Near Pure Good, and she shows no remorse for her negative acts:
- She often made macabre jokes, such as asking Ballister if the people who cut off his arm let him keep it. She also drew about murdering people using her shapeshifting.
- She initially helped Ballister only because she was bored and thought he was a villain, and even as far as to brand him a "villain" by trying to make him commit crimes.
- She had multiple moments of mischief, such as spraying a civilian who called her a freak, or when she removed the cable from an arcade game while a kid was playing for no reason.
- She constantly thought about killing those against her, but she beats them unconscious rather than actually killing them, making this a minor prevention.
- She assaulted the Institute's squire for little to no reason, was apathetic when he was hit by a car Ballister was using by accident, and lied about being sorry for kidnapping him so she could scare the squire off for fun.
- She burned the 600 "gold" that Ballister got while they were playing a Monopoly-based game with fire breath, making her a sore loser.
- After getting betrayed by Ballister and remembering her past with Gloreth, she rampaged through the city and placed dozens in danger. While she was just trying to reach Gloreth's statue to kill herself, she still endangered the lives of many civilians and caused a considerable amount of destruction.
