Momolly (モーモリー, Mōmorī) is a private second class in Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou's personal army.[1]
Appearance[]
Momolly has dark hair that falls past her face. She also has bangs and dark eyes. She wears the standard attire of a Kakin soldier.[2]
Personality[]
Momolly is reserved, intelligent, and analytical. She is quick to point out when someone is wrong but also recognizes when they are correct. She respects Borksen's judgment most of all.[2]
Plot[]
Succession Contest arc[]
After breaking into the Heil-Ly's office with the other soldiers, Momolly is seen looking at Otocin with disapproval as he mentions Nen and Borksen to Corporal Gipper. Momolly can't believe that Otocin would involve Bork in the situation, but Otocin replies that her information will be crucial, explaining that Morena wouldn't pick a fight with "Tserri" if she didn't have a plan. Momolly points out that Otocin did just that against Gipper, but Otocin replies that it was calculated since he was able to get Bork transferred.[2]
Later on, after Gipper criticizes Otocin, Momolly speaks up and says that Otocin has a point. Otocin is shocked and asks if he can kiss her, but after telling him to die, Momolly points out that Tserriednich has remained silent despite Morena's rebellion, confident that he would only delay exacting revenge against a traitor if he has found a new toy. Otocin eventually criticizes Tserriednich's short temper and recounts the other classmate's words to Tserriednich about accomplishing something first. Momolly replies that logic doesn't work on the Prince and tells Otocin that he is probably the only one who can talk back to him without getting shot. Gipper then asks the others if the reason the Prince hasn't taken action against the Heil-Ly is because he's still learning Nen. After saying that it's the best assumption, Momolly suggests waiting for Borksen's arrival to confirm the facts, quickly adding that they can discard the assumption that Morena doesn't use Nen.[2]
After Gipper praises the soldiers' intelligence and asks why they aren't in the Prince's entourage or the Royal Army by now, they all reply in unison that it's too much hassle. Momolly then thinks about Gipper's words and says to herself that if Tserriednich were her friend, she should be by his side and getting on his case. After reuniting with the group, Borksen explains that while she doesn't know the details, she could tell from Theta and Salkov's reactions that Nen is comparable to a top-secret weapon. Otocin quickly reminds them that he said it was more dangerous than a gun, but Momolly points out that Borksen's words carry more weight. Momolly then asks Bork whether she would tailor her response if one of them gets caught by Morena, and she agrees that they should come up with a contingency plan.[2]
Momolly is present with the other soldiers at the meeting with the Xi-Yu and Cha-R.[1]
9th Prince Halkenburg dies early in the morning of the twelfth day of the voyage on Tier 3 at the general hospital, and his casket begins making its way up to the morgue on Tier 1 at noon. Soldiers are stationed to manage the crowds that gather to send him off. After the crowd begins to disperse, Otocin and Momolly gather with their friends, and Otocin is surprised to learn that Borksen is missing. Momolly notes that Borksen's last contact with the group was right before the procession passed by her, roughly 30 minutes ago. Momolly suggests they begin to assume the worst, that Borksen has been abducted by an unknown party for an unknown reason. One of their friends asks if it was even possible, since Borksen was a soldier and on alert, and had vanished without struggle or commotion. Momolly says it would be easy if a coordinated team with a large number of people were behind it, using something like drugs to immobilize her and surrounding her with big guys, which would not be noticed in the crowd. The group debate sticking to their plan of not doing anything if one of them gets caught, before a corporal notices them and shouts at them to disperse since they were still on high alert.[3]

Trivia[]
Intertextuality and References[]
- Momolly's name モーモリー (Mōmorī) appears to have been derived by taking homophones of the first few kana of the first few clauses of the song
もう 森 へ 帰 ろうか? (Mō Morī e Kaerou ka?, eng. Shall We Return to the Forest Now?), performed by frequently-referenced J-Pop idol group Keyakizaka46. This naming pattern is also seen in the names of her comrades Borksen and Otocin from Tserriednich's private army.
