Synopsis[]

Chap 144 - Bara losing his patience

Bara losing his patience

Several members from Nickes' Alliance wait by the Starting Point, and one of Genthru's accomplices descends the stairs and tosses over a plastic bag containing Puhat's severed head. He says that the promised deal is off if they don't bring the 81 cards next time. He asks for a "Leave" card, but Assam speaks up and says that they can't just give him one since they're so rare. The man explains that it's impossible to disarm the bombs if he doesn't go back, revealing that he is part of the Bomber. He says that Genthru is the leader, with himself and the other accomplice acting as his wingmen, explaining that the three of them can put their right thumbs together and say a word to eliminate any planted bombs. He says that they can just all die while he takes his time going back, but another member speaks up and hands him a "Leave" card. The Bomber member punches him in the face and sends him to the ground, angry that they didn't just do that in the first place and telling them to have three more "Leave" cards ready when they make the exchange.

Back at Battera's Castle, Nickes arrives and Genthru asks for the ring. Nickes says that Jispa is dead, but Genthru simply asks for the ring again. Nickes angrily tells him to disarm the bombs first, but Genthru says that he needs to take the ring inside the game and confirm whether all the cards are there. He asks for the ring once again, and Nickes finally hands it over. Genthru tosses it to Sub and tells him to put it on since he's already wearing his and wearing a second ring outside the game will result in his original data being overwritten.

Chap 144 - Nickes and several members of the alliance being killed by the Bomber

Nickes and several members of the alliance being killed by the Bomber

Nickes and the three Bomber members return to the game, the latter of whom are delighted to see that all 81 specified slot cards are there. Nickes orders him to disarm the bombs, but Genthru asks for the three "Leave" cards, which Nickes quickly hands over to them. The three put their right thumbs together and utter "release," which causes all the bombs to explode on the members of Nickes' Alliance who are there. Genthru playfully says that he has released them from their fear, laughing hysterically as he mocks the promise and adds that "release" was the trigger word.

In the badlands, Gon and Killua spar more quickly while using Ryu, and Biscuit praises their progress over two weeks, saying that she expected it would take two months. She tells them that it's time to go to the final phase, which is training by type of Nen. She explains that they could focus on just their type, but it isn't efficient and would limit the range of their techniques. She says that a bell curve shape is the way to go, using the example of an Enhancer who should focus on Enhancement the most, then Emission and Transmutation, and then Manipulation and Conjuration the least. As she continues to test their speed with Gyo, she says that they will learn their own type more quickly through all-around training.

Back at the Starting Point, Eta detects the Troupe members approaching and calls them intruders.
